Complex carbs: Choose complex carbohydrates. Eat more whole grains and fruits and vegetables and fewer refined carbohydrates, such as white bread, cakes and candy.  Avoid alcohol, saturated fats in meats, poultry and certain fish, etc.

Treatment of Gout: There are 2 types of treatment for gout.  One type of treatment are medications(e.G . Colchicine) decreased the symptoms of inflammation such as pain and swelling.  Another type of treatment are medications(e.g. Febuxostat)  that decrease the uric acid levels.   If pain and swelling is persistent with colchicine, you may need short course of oral steroids.  Discuss this with your doctor.

Higher dose uloric: Talk with your physician about raising the dose of uloric to 120 mg a day or switching to allopurinol we can raises to control the Uric acid

It depends: If you would like to do a low fat, low carb, high fiber diet, i'm assuming you'll be taking high protein as well. Then, make sure you take at least 60-70 grams or lean protein per day, less than 50 grams of carbs (fiber does not count), and keep the fat below 20 grams, all from fish or plant based. Three meals and two snacks daily. Another option if you don't want to do high protein is ornish diet.

i exercise 5x/week; high fiber, low sugar diet; normal weight; low bp. i'm 40 and mostly healthy. but, my ldl-c is high (150-160 since 2012). the rest of my lipid panel looks fine. would statins make sense? or should i get my ldl-p checked first?

: LDL-C is actually a calculated number, rather than a count, whereas LDL-P is an actual count of LDL particles.  Increased risk is associated more with LDL-P, so that would be the number to know.  Also helpful would be to know the ratio of the size of different particles, whether small or large.  Small particles are associated with more risk for cardiovascular disease than large particles.

: Check with gastroenterologist.  Depends on number and size of diverticulii, number of recurrences.  Generally gradual return to (modified) full diet over a 2-4 wk period but, again, very variable

Vegetables and beans: Beans that you soak in water are extremely inexpensive and very high in fiber ( 6 grams per serving). The canned beans are just as high in fiber but may be a bit more expensive since they are canned. Fresh or frozen vegetables are also high in fiber ( about 3 grams per serving)
