New ear lobe : Piercing care. Saturate gauze w saline solution (pinch of sea salt in warm water, place on piercing ; allow it to gently drip into the piercing. Or you can buy pressurized saline solution at a drug store. Do not twist the posts.  Clean twice a day.

Of course. Like all: tissues, as they are torn down &amp; rebuilt, life long, new structure is based on previous structure combined with both internal controls (still poorly understood) and external forces. Rebuilding, restructuring of nose tissues follow same principles, structure over time powerfully influenced by both degree and persistence of external inputs altering physical structure, as in plastic surgery, etc.

my 6 yrs daughter has swallowed ear lobe after 1 week of ear piercing which is tender to touch. what to do. please help?

Worrisome: Sometimes frequent cleaning of the site with peroxide followed by effective drying can reduce the localized infection.You may need to remove the post for this to settle down, but the healing process will seal the hole and you start over later. It's important to keep on top of this since the germs can  actually get into ear cartilage and deform the ear.If it doesn't improve quickly, have her seen.

it has been a week since i got my second ear lobe piercing. my left ear is somewhat swollen and my right is red and swollen and hurts to touch. help.

Earlobe infection: This sounds like you may have a wound infection around the piercing.  I recommend that you see a dermatologist for treatment.

my daughter got ear piercing 3 month ago and it was not healing  and one ear got closed up and ear lobe scar tissue will go away ?

Not completely: Scar tissue by its very nature is permanent but its appearance and extent can be minimized during the 1st year by keeping the wound site soft using Vaseline or Aquaphor and minimizing sun exposure.  After a year if cosmetically problematic see a plastic surgeon. I originally said use antibiotic ointment which should be used during the first 10 days on new wounds but I defer to Dr. Dohan below.

You : You very likely have an infection, and given the duration of symptoms and lack of progress, i would reccomend an antibiotic that is considered safe in pregnancy.  Your doctor can review safety in pregnacy studies with you at your visit.  The definitive way to make that diagnosis would be for your doctor to obtain a sample of the discharge and culture it.  You may also be having a reaction to the metal in the post of the earring, so switching metals (higher carat gold is a good choice) may help.  Good luck

i have azithromycin, amoxicillin, cefdinir, and cephalexin at home. will any of these treat an ear lobe piercing infection?

: You shouldn't have any of these at home. Antibiotics are supposed to be taken. Even if you feel better, stoping antibiotics early can result in rebound infection or antibiotic resistant bacteria. You should be seen by a GP or Dermatologist to determine type of antibiotic, strength, and (very important) how long they have to be taken.

Maybe infected or: inflamed?  Check for signs of infection: ^'ed redness, warmth, swelling. ^'ed tenderness, pus, red streaking, swollen lymph nodes or fever. Recommend keeping piercing in place  unless directed by Dr (if removed – drainage tract will close up w ^'ed risk of abscess formation). Call Dr for medical evaluation. Your Dr may prescribe oral antibiotics or antibiotic ointments to apply to piercing site.
