i currently have an ectopic pregnancy as a result of ivf.  i am wondering if i had an orgasm on day 5 of a 3 day transfer could that have caused this?

No: No, there is a consistent 1% rate of ectopic pregnancy after an embryo transfer from IVF.  It has nothing to do with orgasm.  It is thought that the embryo migrates (unknown reason) and ends up implanting in your tube instead.  You didn't do anything wrong.

Exam: The best thing to do is to schedule a visit with your obgyn so that they can do an examination and make sure everything is normal. Yeast, trichomoniasis, herpes and other infections can cause itching and soreness.

Ok: Most ivf clinics only measure HCG levels approximately 9 days after a day 5 embryo transfer.  However, some clinics feel that the combination of HCG levels and Progesterone levels have a more predictive value of a good pregnancy than HCG levels alone.  Personally, we only measure hcg. i now know synthetic progestin is not good for early pregnancy. will the one injection new doc gave me hurt fetus?  i am 7wk+ 5 with ivf twins.

Unnlikely: No one can make any guarantees, but honestly i'm willing to say it's highly unlikely. The progestin is not at all a certain danger, it's just a risk you proabably ought not take.

Tough question: Orgasm causes uterine and fallopian tube involuntary contractions that theoretically can prevent implantation of the fertilized ivf ovum.

Relax: Although no one has studied this scientifically (for obvious reasons), it probably does no harm at all. You might want to ask your ivf doctor what he/she thinks, but i'd forget about it for now.
