Certain meds can't be prescribed while others can but only for a limited time until you're seen by physician. It all depends on the problem and the prescribing doc.

Depends on how much: Gin is in the tonic.  Safe drinking limits for women are no more than 1 standard drink (1.5 oz of 80 proof gin or other distilled spirits) per day, no more than 7/week and never more than 3 per drinking occasion. If you have a family history of alcohol problems, smoke cigarettes or have depression, you are at greater risk of alcohol problems. For men under 60, it's 2 standard drinks/day or 14/week.

Sure it can: Not only S1 but any part of the body can become inflamed without being mechanically compromised as one may think in the conventional sense of being squeezed against something or between 2 other hard surfaces. IBD is not IBS: If by "inflammed bowels" you mean inflammatory bowel disease, such as crohn's & ulcerative colitis, it is an over expression of the immune system that causes not just problems with the colon, but sometime diseases of the upper GI tract and surrrounding organs.  Genetics, environment, ethnic origin all play a role in "flaring" the disease.  Distinguish: infection, ischemia, from symptoms of ibs.
