If this  is an on going problem , he needs work up to make a proper diagnosis,  but if it is only for few days then you can modify his diet,  eliminate all dairy products for 2-3 days,  give him plain bread, rice, pasta, boiled or baked potatoes,  apples, bananas, soup, crackers farina, keep him well hydrated, introduce regular diet gradually . Infected stye: Infected styes can be dangerous in young kids as eyes are close to brain. Send photo to see if needs oral antibiotics or iv antibiotics, which is needed in rare cases. Is your child up to date on all vaccinations?
