Its on the label: For lactation, colace has on its label: use with caution. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) has on its label: probably safe. Senna has on its label. Probably safe.

The reason its written like this is that there are no actual human studies on those medications, the reason is that they didnt need to do studies because no major adverse effects were reported. For specifics, contact your obstetrician.

i am having a persistent, sharp pain in my lower left abdomen for the past two days. i take cymbalta (duloxetine) and fenugreek daily. i had a c-section ten months ago. i am still nursing. it is not constipation.

Persistent : Persistent sharp left lower abdominal pain is a concern, and could represent several different issues.  It could represent an ovarian cyst, and is possible if your hormones are shifting as you have recently had a baby and are breastfeeding.  If there is any concern you are pregnant, then you should have a pregnancy test.  If you are having any difficulty urinating or having blood in your urine, then you should have a urine laboratory test.  If you have worsening pain, continued pain, any vomiting or fever, you should have immediate evaluation.

No: A breastfed baby may or may not burp after a feeding depending on how much air was swallowed during feeding.  You should still try though, it may help prevent a big spit up a few minutes later!

No: Bras weren't invented until "a few" years ago, if compared with the length of our human history. Babies were breastfed for hundreds of thousands of years before somebody started wearing a bra.

STNA: I am not a nurse. But my understanding is that it is not difficult to complete State Tested Nursing Assistant courses. I  would talk to a SNAC certification program or other nursing assistants to learn more about work opportunities.

Fussy: If your milk supply is ample and the baby is latching on you might try feeding in different poditions. Sometimes using a breast shield may be helpful. You might want to seek help from a lactation consultant if these little hints dont work. Good luck!

Yes: Symptoms from a viral infection vary greatly from one person to another. However you would develop an antibody to that virus if infected. Whether you can prevent the child from developing a cold or not is uncertain but do note that a child in the first 3 months of life possessed protective antibodies to many infections and breast feeding may provide added protection as well.
