It should be GI: A gastroenterologist would be the doctor most capable of doing a full workup which should include a physical exam

Second opinion: GI is the correct expert; however, I agree that you need to be examined and possible have colonoscopy or anoscopy. I suggest a second GI opinion and agree with the need for a comprehensive exam, including rectal evaluation.
