Pain worsening....: Can indicate only one of two things:  a)  beginning of a nerve injury/spinal cord compression at the l-4/l-5 nerve root or you have an arterial blockage (plaque) developing in the upper to mid thigh region that is causing nerve pain in the foot from a lack of blood flow to the foot.  If it feels better when you stand, its most likely vascular in nature; if not, then its spinal in nature!

Pinched nerve: With such a positional relationship, you may have a nerve entrapment when you're in the sitting position. This wouldn't necessarily explain the symptoms in both feet, however. An evaluation by a neurologist would be recommended if these symptoms persist.

Cervical  disc: Not unusual for patients in their 50-60s to have wear of their discs in both neck and low back which as they wear produces narrowing of the bony tunnels leading away from the spinal cord. , When this occurs the nerves in both the neck and low back become pinched , This can lead to pain , numbness and tingling , weakness  So this is not a case of spreading,Rather it's a process occurring simultaneo

? Running issue: Your issue could be related to running.  With chronic repetitive trauma like long distance running, you can develop swelling in areas of the leg which can compresses nerves or blood vessels.  I would try to minimize running and ice the leg.  If no improvement, see a doctor.

Headache?: Any reason to believe you are having a stroke ?   Are you having any weakness anywhere? How is your speech?  The areas you described aren't linked so easily. Only place i source i could think of would be in your brain, but even there, what you are describing is just one place. Seek help please!

Nerve stretching.: The nerve supplying the skin to your outer foot has been either stretched or otherwise injured to the extent that nerve impulses can no longer move down the nerve with authority. Fear not, most times the nerve regenerates and the feeling returns. You will have to be patient. To remove all doubt you can always have your foot evaluated by an expert.
