Sciatica: Somethimes a pinched nerve or sciatca can cause pain or numbness on the left hip, back, leg area. I would see a doctor as soon as possible for an exam. Good luck

Varies: There are a few potential causes and I would not hesitate to be seen for it.  The two most common causes are an irritation of a nerve in the back which can cause pain or numbness into the hip and leg.  The other very common cause is a bursitis/tendinitis of the hip which can usually be eliminated by a cortisone shot.  An exam can distinguish between the two.

i have cracking when walking, and popping of the hips. i'm 25. i get numbness when laying down mostly for only ten minutes on each side. what do i do?

It band tight/lax: If the IT band on the side of your leg is causing the sense of instability, then exercises to stretch it and strengthen the hip can be useful. If pain remains despite directed exercises, have it evaluated by your FP. The numbness suggests the IT band is tight

Numbness: Numbness usually means some process involving a nerve.  It could be something like having worn tight-at the waist clothing that caused some compression, or possibly arthritis or spinal disk problem, particularly after having done some physical work. Onset of shingles could be numbness, itch or pain. Since this is persisting, i would recommend a visit to your doctor for a proper diagnosis.

Nerve impingement: can be caused by being sandwiched between two spinal bones, pressed by a bulging. It can cause muscle spasm and back pain. Prevention treatment is always recommended. This condition must be professionally managed. See interventional pain management specialist for definitive diagnosis and management. It is the same as a pinched nerve.

Could be : Meralgia paresthetica, a nerve compression at the lateral hip affecting the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve.  Might be caused by tight belt or clothing.  Once called "gunfighter's neuropathy".

Ouch: sciatica (pain related to the course and distribution of the sciatic nerve), along with paresthesias (unusual sensations associated with sensory nerves) can be due to muscular inflammation, but might reflect ongoing damage to the nerve itself. Best to consult with your Primary Care practitioner for further evaluation and possibly imaging.

Glute muscles: You didn't specify where or if the whole leg is numb but it sounds like your glute muscles are tight. Get a deep tissue sports massage or acupuncture to loosen them up. Sometimes the lower back muscles can be involved too. Worse with walking is when when you are engaging the muscles, so it could make send that they would feel worse. Look up stretches too. Do them 2 times a day with good intent.

am i not explaining it right? feels like when your foot falls asleep, in my l side joints! mainly l hip/shoulder. numbness gettin worse, what is this?

Numbness: In the absence of better explanation, numbness in one side of your body could alert your physicians of a problem in the spinal cord or brain at the sensory relay areas (thalamus)  or parietal white matter or cortex. This could be due to  a demyelinating disorder. Conversely,  a concomitant neck and lower back condition can very well explain your symptoms. Check with your md. Hope u get well soon.
