POSSIBLE nerve heals: A pinched nerve in the neck can be due to a 'bone spur' (arthritis)
or a 'bulging disc' or a combination of both (also rarely a tumor).  Arthritis usually does not just disappear, but a protruding disc can resolve. An xray can detect arthritis, but an MRI is the best test to see exactly which nerve is affected and by 'what'.  Also consider carpal tunnel syndrome with hand numbness & tingling.

sudden pain in left elbow between bones hurts to bend and touch numbness and cold feeling down arm and hand what could it be no injury occurrd?

Family practice : Probably what ever is going on is affecting the ulnar nerve. Sometimes recurrent pressure on area can cause a neuropathy   sometimes surgery is needed to move the nerve where it can be protected from further injury.

i have a tear of my supraspinatus tendon and my labrum tendon. i am having tingling and numbness in my right arm and hand. the same arm that my injury has occurred. is this something that i should get seen right away about?

"Stretch Injury": You probably stretched the nerves under your shoulder (arm pit) and the symptoms should subside. If they persist your doctor (who should be a Orthopedic or Occupational Medicine doc) can order tests to further evaluate your symptoms.

for 4 months now my middle finger of right hand has been total numbness/pain due to golf injury of forearm. no anti-infl/cortisone helped. any idea??

Need MRI: X-ray won't tell what is going on. You may need MRI of the hand -wrist. Suggest seeing a hand specialist who are Orthopedic doctors.

i have left shoulder pain x 10 days.h/o neck injury 11 yrs ago.with use of traction device pain in shoulder does improve numbness in lft hand &foot?

Leg/arm numbness: This suggests spinal cord compression of some degree. If you have a disk/spur causing pressure on the front of the spinal cord, this would explain unilateral arm/leg symptoms. Improvement with traction suggests soft tissue (disc). Not emergent, but keep an eye on this for any worsening. If you've had for 11 years, then ok to deal with it until not tolerable or weakness/imbalance ensues.

Possibly: Can clarify via both MRI of neck and EMG study of arms.  Can easily be sorted out in this fashion.

Carpel tunnel: This is a common cause of numbness in the thumb.  If it is just the medial aspect, this is more suspicious of medial nerve involvement (which is commonly caused by carpel tunnel) because the radial nerve innervates the lateral aspect of the thumb.

No: Numbness in the upper arm is not related to your injury, it is most likely from a pinched nerve in the neck. I would recommend you see an orthopedic surgeon or a neurologist.

Unlikely: All though injuries to the hand fingers and thumb can cause localized numbness, it is unlikely for a thumb injury to cause numbness in the upper arm.  If symptoms persist, see your doctor or hand specialists for an evaluation.

Nerve Injury: This sounds like an injury to the nerve. These do typically resolve but they can take months. I would recommend you see a hand surgeon for a full evaluation.
