Think nerves: Neuropathy can cause these symptoms, and a doctor can help diagnose this.  Keep in mind that medical conditions such as diabetes, inflammatory arthritis, thyroid issues, fluid retention may be at the root of the issue.  Talk to your doctor.

Hyperventilation: Your symptoms are consistent with hyperventilation.  Hyperventilation causes you to deplete carbon dioxide in the blood.  Hyperventilation is most commonly caused by anxiety.  Other causes are lung problems such as asthma or emphysema, heart problems, infection and bleeding.  I suggest being seen to find out the cause.

See below: The description you give is consistent with the sensory distribution of the ulnar nerve. This nerve runs from your neck, around you elbow and to the little finger. The numbness could be cause by compression of this nerve any where along its distribution. Talk to your doctor the next time you see them about possible causes or treatments.

See Hand Doc: Since the palm is a functional surface, numbness is an important symptom.  If can indicate nerve damage, and certain nerves need repair by a hand specialist.  Usually can be dealt with within the days following the original injury.  Call the original treating provider to discuss.

?carpal tunnel syndr: Would check out possible nerve compression at wrist, but more proximal problems could exist such as shoulder area or neck.  An exam by your doctor might reveal answers, and an EMG test could confirm location and degree of nerve issues.

Get it evaluated....: If the pain is out of proportion, losing all function of the hand or the hand is cold to the touch/ a weird color, you need to go to the er or an urgent care center- a patient can't always know if what they are having is really carpal tunnel syndrome or else something more serious like an infectious tenosynovitis or other problem that can permanently lose the function of your affected hand.

Nerve compression: I think it is a nerve compression mostly from the way you slept. I don't think that any further work up is needed at this time.

: Frequently, lacerations in the skin result in severed nerve endings or inflammation that compresses nerves causing numbness. Over time (months, not days) many of these nerve endings either heal or new ones are routed to the area. It is common to have numb areas near traumatic injuries. Be careful of the area to avoid further injuries and work with a physical therapist to regain function.

These : These symptoms, called dysesthesias, can have a variety of causes.  A good neurologist can help sort it out.  You are on a variety of medications for the central nervous system.  These can have various side effects, but you will have to work with your physicians on changing doses to see which one might be a culprit.

When symptoms involve both sides of the body and the hands and feet, the cause is either more generalized, like diabetes, medications, or other neuropathies, or it is focused in the neck or lower parts of the brain.  If you notice symptoms when moving your head one way or another, it can point to some tightness in your neck.

Any nerve problem should not be ignored since the damage can become permanent.  Even drug reactions, like tardive dyskinesia, can be irreversible.  Any lasting loss of feeling or weakness should be evaluated quickly.
