Accepted Answer

Little chance: There is little chance of the endometrium regenerating. If you start to develop bleeding, it is more likely there may be a polyp developing in an island of endometrium that may be there already.

i had the novasure procedure several years ago, why am i bleeding after sex now?

Accepted Answer

This is not uncommon: It is not uncommon to have some bleeding after an endometrial ablation.  In some cases regular periods may return after several months or years.  It is more common to have light bleeding.  Cramping after sex may release retained blood from your uterus.  You should discuss this with your doctor at a future visit.

I do thermachoice: Depends on the shape of yoru uterus , thermachoice is easier to fit more uteruses, and I do thermachoice in the offcie, your doc who rec it should be able to tell you whcih is best for you.

how is it possible to have a child after a tubal ligation and a novasure procedure?  i am remarried and we would love to have a baby together.

IVF: On rare occassions, tubals can be reversed. Much higher success with IVF (in vitro fertilization), where eggs are retrieved from mom and then fertilized in the lab with dad's sperm and then implanted into the uterus. This bypasses the tubes so it doesn't matter if you've had a tubal. You need to sit down and have a nice consultation with a fertility specialist/clinic in your area.

Certainly: There may be some spotting afterward.

Accepted Answer

This is not uncommon: The tissue you described is the residual tissue burned during the ablation.  I've heard it described by novasure patients like that.  It's also not uncommon to have some bleeding after an endometrial ablation.  Sometimes regular periods may return after several weeks to years.  It is more common to have light bleeding.  You should discuss this with your doctor at a future visit.  It is not urgent.

if novasure did not fit evenly into a womb would the procedure still go ahead and if so wouldnt it be dangerous to ablate one side more than the other?

Accepted Answer

Not dangerous: Danger isnt the issue with an incomplete ablation. The issue is you may continue to have menstrual bleeding. The procedure will go ahead an ablate even if there is an uneven fit. That is ok. There are safety features in place to prevent activation if there is a hole in the uterus though. Novasure is not my favorite method for ablations but there is not a safety issue if one side was ablated better.

Accepted Answer

No: I advise patients to wait 3 weeks. The uterine lining is shedding after the ablation and may be more susceptible to infection.

i had novasure procedure in november. i started bleeding after intercourse last night and have already had my cycle this month. should i be worried?

Accepted Answer

Ablation and bleed: Novasure has a 86% complete amenorrhea rate and most stop after the bleeding noted 6-8 weeks after surgery.  However, some patients do take longer to stop completely.  In addition, cervical inflammation from infection can cause post sex bleeding and is unrelated to your surgery.  Have your surgeon do a quick evaluation in the office to see the source.

i had a hysteroscopy, d&c, and the novasure procedure done on 9-4-12. i am still spotting a month later, is this normal? if so, when will it go away?

Accepted Answer

Its common: Not  all  patients    will  completely  stop  bleeding   after  an  ablation. It may  take a  few months   before   you know what   your menses  will be like.  You  should  talk to you  md  about  your  particular  problem.
