how to prevent nose veins?

Sun protection: Most blood vessels seen on the surface of the nose are due to rosacea. The best way to limit evidence of rosacea (often genetic) : sun protection; avoid triggers that make nose & cheeks red like extremes of weather, some foods (ie, certain wines might make it worse). See dermatologist if develops to rule out skin cancer as well (less common).

i have a broken blood vessel on my nose (spider veins). it has gotten a bit bigger overtime and i can feel a bump like a pimple when i touch it but obviously will not squeeze it. what is the best thing to do to get rid of it please?

Accepted Answer

Ignore it: Most of these will spontaneously disappear over a period of months if left alone. You can consult a cosmetic dermatologist to see if any of their several laser treatments would help.

Possibly: A family history of autoimmune disease does increase your chances of having an autoimmune disorder. You should see your doctor for further evaluation (history, exam, and lab tests).

Accepted Answer

No downtime.: Radiofrequency can be used for nasal spider veins.  I use the ellman micro needle rf which requires no pre procedure sedation or topical anesthesia.  Other similar machines include veinwave and veingogh.  There is no post procedure downtime.  I do recommend that you avoid sun exposure until the redness subsides-about 1 week.

Facial flushing : You may have a hot flash sensation with dizziness in response to a prominent autonomic nervous system mediated blood vessels dilatation. The autonomic nervous system is linked to your emotions as well. When nervous, your blood vessels, mediated by sympathetic autonomic function dilates the blood vessels to your face ( and your entire skin vasculature). As blood is shifted you feel dizzy and tired.

Veins: Pulsed dye laser is often used to treat  spider veins on the face.  Temporary bruising may occur and last for as long as a week or more. Consult with your physician.

Pressure : Any straining, including coughing, applies pressure on the blood vessels around the eye. This pressure can induce dilation of the vessels to make them more visible. Occasionally, rupture of one of these blood vessels can cause bleeding/bruising of the whites of the eye. This is usually painless and resolves with time.

It has been done: There are probably better ways to treat red spider veins under the nose than ipl.  Many would consider laser, thermocaogulation, and sclerotherapy are  all better choices.

how can i stop the popped vein in my nose from bleeding?

Accepted Answer

Nose bleed: There are several options.  Usually keeping the nose moist can be very helpful.  Do this by using nasal saline and vaseline.  If this is not successful, you may need to have the vessel cauterized.  This is usually an office procedure, using a chemical called silver nitrate.  This is generally a very successful treatment and is usually definitive.  Good luck.

Might be a chronic i: use bactroban nasal at night into affected area
