Varies: The normal range for calcium in most labs is 8.6 to 10.3, though some labs have a lower upper range.  Pth levels are typically normal between 10 and 65 pg/ml, but also can vary.  Pth regulates the calcium level, so there are many people (especially if vit d deficient) with low normal calcium levels who have high PTH levels (secondary hyperparathyroidism).

Yes: If your calcium is high and your PTH is "normal", then you could have hyperparathyroidism. Pth shouldn't be around at all with high calcium.

Nutrition and stress: Stress management techniques such as meditation and guided imagery can be helpful.  Your vitamin d is low so should be supplemented with d3.  4000 to 5000 iu daily then recheck after 8 - 12 weeks.  Do you get out into natural sunlight in the day?  That also helps the pineal gland recognize the signal of when it is time to sleep.  Eat a whole foods diet and get some exercise.  Check other nutrients.

Try It: Talk to your doctor, loss of libido might me late sign for some, specially when t level is just  below lower limit. It is worth trying t replacement.

Measure 25(OH)D: Calcitriol, 25(OH)2D, is usually elevated in granulomatous diseases such as sarcoidosis, in lymphomas or in primary hyperparathyroidism, as you suggest. Calcitriol is quite influenced by intestinal absorption of calcium; 25(OH)D is the vitamin D metabolite usually measured (not DI-hydroxy/2D). Add a 25(OH)D measurement &amp; work with your doctor to pursue the other causes of hypercalcemia. Good luck!

i have low vitamin d and have tried supplementing but my levels wont rise. i have normal calcium and magnesium levels. my pth is normal. how can i still have normal calcium levels and normal pth levels if my vitamin d level is low?

: How low is low? What did you use to supplement? The Vitamins D level you tested is not the “active” form of vitamin d that maintains calcium levels. The body is very intelligent, and can maintain normalcy im even in the face of mild deficiency. Chat with a nutritional MD or nutritionist.

Maybe: There are some patients with mild hypercalcemia and high normal PTH levels that do have hyperparathyroidism.  I would not, however, quickly turn to surgery.  An endocrinologist could do further workup to help support the diagnosis and i would be sure to have specifically locallizing imaging studies before i would proceed with surgey in this rare case.

had a ct scan and an ultrasound and both said i have a parathyroid tumour but i have normal pth and calcium levels. can they take time to elevate?

Yes: Levels tend to gradually increase over time but due increase so should be monitored every 3-6 mths.  Also talk to your doctor about doing a biopsy to make sure it is a parathyroid adenoma (tumor).

Typo?: I think you meant to type calcium of 12.13?  Your PTH is high which would mean you have hyperparathyroidism and then will have high blood calcium levels.  Hyperparathyroidism should be treated (typically with surgery), the thyroid numbers are only slightly off, Iwould just recheck the tsp and add a free t4.  See an endocrinologist for your issue.

PTH should be low: If you calcium (and ionized calcium) is high, your PTH should be suppressed to low levels unless you have a parathyroid adenoma secreting excess pth. Supplementing low vitamin d is important. Also make sure you are not on thiazide diuretics. Your endocrinologist can evaluate the cause and treatment. Don't ignore it.
