Chickenpox: Adults who never had chickenpox or vaccine as a child can definitely get chickenpox. I have seen a few cases in adults and they tend to be more uncomfortable than children. You will be susceptible to shingles later in life. You seem to be doing ok. Apply calamine lotion and take antihistamines to control itchiness. Acetaminophen helps headache.

Chickenpox: The skin lesions of chickenpox have clear fluid in them.  Once, they "pop open" they can get infected with common bacteria found on the skin.  If you lesiosn are not healing and you are now seeing pus- green color or milky white - you need to see your doctor and have that looked at.   This has the potential to be a serious complication of chickenpox.

i'm a 24yr male with chicken pox for the past 5 days on medication, but today morning i noticed white discharge inside of my prepuce after cleaning and inspecting it i found a couple of vesicles. is this normal, if not what is the next step?

: Unfortunately, chicken pox vesicles can be found on genital skin as well as most of the skin surface. They are shallow and will self-heal over time if you keep the skin clean. They are a potential source of localized bacterial skin infection just like other areas of skin. Close monitoring and frequent rincinf with hydrogen peroxide can reduce infection risk. Antibiotic cream can also help.

my 5 year old has had five 24-48 hr high fevers in the last 3 months. (not including when he had chicken pox and covid). gp says this is normal and wont do further investigations. do you agree this is normal? it seems like excessive illness?

Yes: When you have chicken pox, you will have three types of rash:  you will have red bumps, little bubbles called vessicles filled with clear or slightly yellow fluid, and scabs.  The rash itches terribly, and can be soothed with oatmeal baths, topical lotions, tylenol (acetaminophen) and benadryl.  Swollen lumps in the neck and other places are called "lymph nodes, " and are a sign that the immune system is working.

Unrelated: By 2 months after chickenpox your immune system is back to normal and any symptoms you have are unrelated. If you were already in poor health, such an infection may push you further down that road. There may be unrelated issues that you need to have evaluated &amp; treated.

Yes: The lymph nodes are scattered throughout the body and are often noticed on the head/neck where they are not buried in tissue. They often enlarge from their resting size with chickenpox &amp; can after some immunizations. They usually return to resting size after 3-4 weeks.
