Likely diet related.: If everything else (growth, blood pressure, etc) are fine, high pH is probably related to diet, as many fruits, even if acidic to taste, turn urine alkaline.

Usually related ...: Alkaline urine ph of 7-8 is usually related with uti, vegetarian diet, metabolic alkalosis caused by vomiting, the use of steroids or diuretic drugs, or the overuse of antacids or laxatives., and bears no harm as long as having no UTI and being comfortable; if so, no need to worry. But in doubt, check with doc timely for individual condition.

Specimen problem: We check the ph to see whether the urine was contaminated by urea-splitting microbes that produced ammonia. Evidently in this case it did. Don't worry about your urine ph and ignore anyone who tells you that you should.

Yes: Urine pH measures urine acidity and ranges from 5 to 7.  Animal protein is the major source of acid in diet and will result in low urine pH. Vegetarians usually have U pH in higher range. Your symptoms suggest anxiety/hyperventilation which raise blood pH, and hence U pH.

Yes: The active meds in your drug will,be long gone from urine detection after 20 days. Thus does sound like you may have taken the drug without a doc’s Rx. If so, consider the consequences of actions like this, while the drug is ‘legal’ , for those taking a controlled substance off label, it IS an illegal drug and if you have a job requiring urine testing would have grave consequences.

That is normal.: Slightly acidic urine is completely normal. Many of the waste products that kidneys get rid of are acidic, and so urine ph usually is also.  Normal urin ph ranges from 5.0 to 8.0, with 7.0 being neutral.

Renal failure: Renal failure implies the kidneys are not working.  When that happens, BUN and serum creatinine rise.  Ph fluctuations in urine are normal. Mild amounts of protein in urine can be normal.  So, kidney failure can cause a whole bunch of urine changes, but BUN and creatinine have to be abnormal to make this diagnosis.

routine blood test. it showed high #mono (.8), normal %mono (8%), high #ig (.04), high total bili (1.3) &an anion gap of 15.. everything else normal. i eat pretty well & drink only water (a lot). urine ph was 6. should i be worried? stress related?

No: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, there is nothing to be concerned about the information you provided.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
