A member asked:

Urine ph was 9. past results: 7.5 in 2/13, 6.5 in 3/13 and 7 in 10/13. likely lab error, diet or something else? all other labs were normal.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Specimen problem: We check the ph to see whether the urine was contaminated by urea-splitting microbes that produced ammonia. Evidently in this case it did. Don't worry about your urine ph and ignore anyone who tells you that you should.
