If your EF is in the normal range, you can’t do anything and actually don’t want to “improve” it.  If it is abnormal then improving it depends on the reason it is low which can be one of many. "Normal" hard to jud: Basis for designating an ejection frac (EF) as "normal" isn't just the pictures that are seen, but also knowledge of your medical condition- symptoms &amp; signs. Any echocardiogram has variability - a calculated EF of 55% means the EF can range from 50%-60% (+/-5%). Similarly, 2.5 yrs ago, EF was probably in the range of 57%-67%. There's considerable overlap, so it's hard to say if anything changed.

Echo: Heart failure with normal ejection fraction would most commonly be due to some structural or functional abnormality in the heart, it’s valves, or surrounding structures. To start an echo would give the best chance at visualization along with a good physical exam. 3D echo would be even more helpful in some cases if available, and stress echo may be needed to expose certain abnormalities.
