: Of course it may, which is not a good sign. Probability of Melanoma is vert low at your age of 17, but anything is possible, Please let a dermatologist look at the lesion, it may just be a benign mole, which can also change colors.

: I believe that most nodular melanomas start out as colored lesions but some can be without color. The safest practice is to have any skin lesion that stands out as quite different from anything else on your skin checked by a physician or dermatologist.

Difficult : The reason why this type of melanoma is caught late because it spreads to the inside rather than spreading to the outside like other types of melanoma. Therefore, it is difficult to notice a change in the mile. Also, in melanoma, the deeper the lesion, the worse it is and the more likely to spread to other parts. This makes nodular melanoma more serious and aggressive as it grows deep.

Skin lesion: skin lesions that have abnormal size, depth, color, irregular borders, can be a potential clue of a underlying melanoma, or dysplatic process occurring. go to a dermatologist or PCP to get the skin lesion evaluated and biopsied. Follow up with your doctor closely.

See a Dr: Any skin tag or mole that changes color or has irregularities should be checked in person by a Dr. Using a magnifier, they can examine it and determine whether it needs a biopsy. The biopsy will tell the Dr whether there are any abnormal cells in the tissue sample.
