i had a medical abortion and my first period came 6 weeks later... but there is no sign of the second period...is it going to be as late as the first?

Possibly: Thank you for the question.  First, take a pregnancy test to make sure your hormone levels have trended back to zero.  I would give your body up to three cycles to see what is going on, as long as you had regular cycles prior to this pregnancy.  Lastly, if there is any evidence of infection- fever, pain, abnormal discharge/smell f/u with an obgyn.

baby 3 months ago and on birth control for 2 month first period came no problem second period no problem light periods like i had pre pregnancy, but its a week after my period i have lower abdominal pain and bloating , heavy bleeding and clots ?

You may have: an infection which has changed your period intensity.   Or it may be your body adjusting to the contraceptive which you have taken for 2 months.   First thing you need to make sure of is that you are not pregnant, since oral contraceptives are good but not 100% proof.   Then if this continues past 1 week I would see a GYN soon to figure out whether you can switch OCP.  Good luck.

Yes: It may take a while for your cycle pattern to regulate after stopping birth control. Consider your reason for starting birth control. If it was to regulate your cycle, this may be normal. Also, you may want to take a pregnancy test as pregnancy is the most common reason for missed cycles.

Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time)  is very common on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time.  If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen  then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the pill is not working.

Normal vs. pregnancy: Spotting between periods can be normal but can also be from implantation bleeding.  Suggest a pregnancy test.

Spotting: This is not a second period, this is a spotting or intermenstrual bleeding. Infections and hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test. See your gyn to have your periods regulated.

Once a year?: A woman with cycles shorter than 29 days (shorter than 1 month) will likely have 1 ovulation per month during the year, but have 2 ovulations during one month of the year (since she has about 13 cycles a year). That means all such women will have 2 periods in one of the months of each year, in order to have 13 cycles each year.

Second period ?: Two periods in a 30 day time frame is unusual, and "brown spotting 5 days after bleeding" may indicate a pregnancy outside the uterus (ectopic).  Obtain a serum HCG test to be certain, and if negaive, see your gyn provider for an exam and other testing.
