Fever/night sweats: Are part of body's response to infection. Immune response is improved at higher body temperature. You might still be spiking temps while having night sweats.

is night sweats related to scheuermann disease type 2?

Not likely: Kyphosis (scheuermann's disease) is a curving of the spine that causes a bowing or rounding of the back, which leads to a hunchback or slouching posture...Basically scoliosis of the thoracic spine. This does not cause night sweat!
severe kyphosis is a risk factor for pneumonia etcc...Which can cause night sweat, among other things.
If you have night sweats, consult your doc.

: Anything that causes fever can result in night sweats, which usually are the result of fever breaking during the night. Inflammatory bowel disease certainly can do this, but it most likely when your UC or Crohn's disease have flared up. However, night sweats rarely would be the only symptom of these problems. I suspect it is: Most likely due to perimenopause/menopause. Due to low estrogen levels. If uncomfortable, hrt may help. Sometimes drugs like Effexor (venlafaxine) do as well. Should prob check thyroid too. Some rare tumors can sometimes cause severe sweating but there are also very noticeable other symptoms associated w these. Finally some medications can cause excess sweating as a side effect.

prednisolone 10 mg down from 40. i sweat a lot at night and wakes me up thirsty. i have crohn's disease. anything i can do to reduce it? i smoke :-(

What for?: First we need to know why you were treated with prednisone? If you have an infection and the symptoms were suppressed by the high dose of prednisone, then you would expect the symptoms to recur or get worse when the dose is reduced.  Were the Prednisone started for your Crohn's disease?

Could be: It is difficult to say confidently that you skin is or is not infected without the benefit of an exam, but there is a high probability that you may have this complication. Exam by your doctor would be wise.

Chemo: People on chemotherapy have weakened immune systems and sometimes develop infections caused by uncommon pathogens that don't infect people with healthy immune systems. Any fever, sweats,chills, persistent cough should be reported promptly to your physician or oncologist and investigated.

Yes: Would get this baby to a pediatrician ASAP and describe what is going on in detail.  Without knowing more about his condition cannot really comment beyond that, but what you describe is not normal and should be investigated. Good luck.
