See the doctor: The wheezing noise babies make can come from the upper airway tract (nose, back of throat) or from the lower airway tract (lungs). In a small child, it is important for a physician to determine where the noise is coming from, as that determines how serious it may be and what may be a possible treatment. In a newborn, i would suggest having them seen soon.

Wheezing : Wheezing after feeding is not necessarily normal.  You should call your child's doctor to discuss.  They may want you to bring her in and feed her in the office so that they can examine her while she is making the noise.  If you think that she is having difficulty breathing, turning blue, or going limp, you need to call your doctor immediately or take her to the emergency room.

my son is turning 3 months old and recently underwent surgery for ileal atresia when he was 4 days old.he returned home after he was hospitalised for  12 days.when he was home i noticed that he has wheezing noises while breathing,feeding and sleeping.im n

Your ? was cut off.: I'm sure that if your baby had fever, listlessness &amp; trouble breathing to the point that he could not feed or sleep, you would have taken him to his doctor straight away. Still, only medical examination can determine if he is wheezing from a viral infection, from reflux of stomach contents spilling over into his airways or from other causes, to provide you proper guidance &amp; recommend treatment.

Worried, but ok: It sounds most likely to be a respiratory virus.  This should hit it's peak around 3-5 days, with cough and congestion going away after 10-14 days.  Watch for fever over 102.5, poor urine output, lethargy, irritability, breathing over 40/min, difficulty breathing with stomach and neck muscle use, or wheezing. If those develop, bring him in.

Basics: The first months are troubled by narrow nasal passages &amp; exposure to dust, fragrances, smoke &amp; other irritants.This often ends as congestion &amp; produces rattling or coughing with breathing. The best rx is washing out the nose with saline &amp; suctioning the remainder. Eliminate irritants from babies environment &amp; this will happen less.

im coming down with a strong cold & have asthma too. trouble breathing and wheezing. what otc can i take if im breast feeding my 11mo old?

Anything OTC mostly: There are a few flags here. Mainly, if you really are having trouble breathing and wheezing, that needs to get looked at asap. However, most asthma medications and otc decongestants are fine to take while breastfeeding, unless you are taking them above the recommended amount. If you have any questions about other remedies or herbal remedies, ask the pharmacist.

Check temp: Continue to breastfeed, check temperature annd use nasal saline. Please see your pediatrician. Baby’s at this age have immature immune systems and additional tests may be indicated.

Bronchoconstriction: Your symptoms are consistent exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (aka exercise-induced asthma). This does not mean you necessarily have asthma. A major goal is to ensure that exercise is not avoided.  As your cardiovascular condition improves this may resolve. It it persists or worsens you should see physician for possible medications/inhalers to use and determine need for further testing.
