i have anxiety disorder and my newborn baby now 10 days seems to be grasping during sleep and even while awake. why does this happen?

Worry warts : There are many of us who worry more than we need to.    I would strongly suggest that you go to your pediatrician for a needed dose of reassurance.   If you feel you will be criticized for going, find someone you feel safe with.   Go soon so this issue is put to rest and then you can too!    One more thing.  Trust your instincts!   If you feel your baby has a problem, you will usually be right.

Patterning: Allow baby to sleep no more than 30 min without waking it during the day &amp; do not wake it  at night. In time the day night pattern should become more night friendly.

Dog germs: Since dogs don’t wear shoes, they are likely to track in ordinary germs from the ground on their paws. Once the baby is crawling on the floor, it will be good to maintain reasonable floor cleanliness.  The dogs should be trained not to lick the baby on the face, their mouths are not clean.  If the dogs pick up fleas or ticks or have skin diseases, please discuss management with your veterinarian.

is it normal for a newborns white of eye to be grayish yellow like. and for him to sleep so much. he is only awake for a total of 3 hours a day?

Yes and yes: The sclera, the white part of the eye, is thin in infants allowing you to see the underlying tissue which is black.  This gives it a grayish blue color.  Also newborns do sleep alot - be thankful, it doesn't stay that way.

No: No,  fever at this age could indicate a potentially serious bacterial infection. Specially with decrease eating and increase sleepiness. Take the baby to a dr as soon as possible.

Sleepy nurser: Breast fed babies very frequently fall asleep at the breast at first, and this can make nursing challenging (and will add to maternal exhaustion).  Unwrapping the baby, tapping the feet, stroking the face or other forms of stimulation as soon as baby falls asleep will hopefully foster a more effective feeding pattern.  Be vigilant, and this will pass.  Best wishes.

Weight gain: If your newborn is breast feeding and falls asleep, she is likely getting enough and will wake and cry when hungry  Weight gain is the best measure of good nutritional status.  On a day to day basis you should see about 5-6 wet diapers a day to assure adequate fluid intake.  If you have any doubts, have your doctor check her weight and keep track of her wet diapers.

No more than 2 hrs: Try not to let your baby sleep more than two hours straight during the daytime, even if they were up the previous night. Babies can flip their day/night pattern if you do. Try to get seven to eight feedings in during the day and you might get extra sleep at night.

Joyful sounds: Babies airways are rubbery (not firm like adults) and tend to vibrate with rapid air movement.This can lead to squeaks, grunts, honks etc.Baby is unconcerned that you might be bothered by a sound,they have no social memory of "approved" noises and can be quite noisy in wake or sleep state.If baby is thriving otherwise I would consider it the joyful sounds of infancy.

should i be concerned and how do i make it stop.

May be normal but: Abnormalities are rare. That said, shaky movements in a new baby may or may not be normal, and it is hard to tell without examining the baby and seeing the movements. The best way to do this is to make videos of the baby's movements and show his pediatrician, who can take into consideration the progress in all the areas of baby development and decide whether the baby's movements are normal or not.
