Neuropathy: That is a difficult question to answer online. A good neurologist might be able to determine the true cause for your pains. Sometimes inherent nerve problems point to a generalized neurologic disorder. Sympathetic chain surgery might also be beneficial. Maybe a second opinion?  Best of luck!

Possibly: If this is the correct diagnosis is possible, but it may be a neuropathy caused by other issues and you need to have this clarified. If a medication reaction causes a problem after the medication is withdrawn often the problem will go away, but sometimes there are situations when it will persist. This is something you can ask your physician.

are there any medications for heat intolerance?  i have severe heat intolerance due to autonomic neuropathy (30 years of type 1 diabetes).  i am only comfortable when an ac is blowing cold air on me.

No: Control environment   Wear thin loss cloths and may need to be naked while in house and drink plenty of cold water. Avoid exposure to heat. Presume work up for Thyroid abnormalities was negative

Possibly, : Possibly, but many other things can cause similar conditions, including diabetes, coronary artery disease, stress, etc.

Most do not: No antidepressants cause nerve damage.  Some antipsychotics could cause dyskinesia that could be construed as a sort of nerve damage although the atypical antipsychotics only do this rarely.  The mood stabilizers may negatively impact neurodevelopment in children according to some research.  However, lithium is thought to actually be neuroprotective.

tramadol is the only medication that keeps me able to move with p. neuropathy. doctors are afraid to give even a minimal dose. why?

Opioid paranoia: Tramadol (Ultram) is 1/100th the strength of morphine. The medical world are concerned about any use of controlled substances. Understand that you are walking into a powderkeg when you ask for pain medicine.
On another note, don't discount the value of Cymbalta, Neurontin, Lyrica, amitriptyline, and other non-narcotic medications that could significantly/adequately manage your pain.

Options: Good job with your diabetes!   the best meds for neuropathic pain are Lyrica (pregabalin) and or neurontin.  Talk to your doctor about a script.

Painful!: Most cases of trigeminal or facial nerve pain are diagnosed as neuralgia. The mechanism is usually compression on the nerve from a blood vessel or injury or as the result of MS. Medications that block nerve firing, such as anti-seizure medications, are typically used: carbamazepam, topiramate, gabapentin/Neurontin, and pregabalin/Lyrica are used. There are also a number of surgical treatments.

TCA: Gabapentin (neurontin) may be less risky at low doses, otherwise a tricylclic like amytriptyline or nortriptyline often is effective.
Nucynta , a narcotic analgesic recently received fda indication for neuropathic pain, and also may work at a low dosage.
