i'm taking amitryptyline, neurontin (gabapentin) and naproxen for severe back pain and spasms. is it safe to take methocarbamol as well?

Accepted Answer

Yes: watch for sedation though. Don't drive until you know how sleepy you will get with the combination of Neurontin (gabapentin) and methocarbimal. ( assuming you take the amitryptyline at bedtime.

is it ok to take naproxen 500 mg & gabapentin 300 mg at same time?

Accepted Answer

Should be fine BUT: There are no contraindications I am aware of with taking them at same time. However i always recommend discussing medicationanagent with your personal physician who knows your medical history and conditions.

i have been on naproxen 500gm 2x per day for a very long time.  i also take lithium, gabapentin, and villadozone.  what is the half life if i quit now?

Accepted Answer

Half-life range: 12 - 17 hrs is the range to have your system load be half of the last dose. It is not a narcotic. The pain and your pain responses (anxiety, insomnia, etc) may return but there is no additional chemical w/drawal. A few days and it will all be out of your system.

Several problems: with this combination  alla seltzer and naprosyn (naproxen)  may cause increased GI bleeding and more rapid dissolving of the naprostn  the combination of naprosyn (naproxen) and gabapentin may cause increased gabapentin levels and increased side effects  check with your physician or use care

faecal calprotectin result was 85 and inconclusive. i'm on lansoprazole, naproxen and gabapentin, could these give false results? higher than is?

Accepted Answer

No: The fecal calprotectin is a relatively sensitive test for inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn's disease and is not affected by the medications you mention. HOWEVER it is technically possible that Naproxen which is an NSAID can inflame your GI tract! Ask your Gastroenterologist for his/her input!

i am taking gabapentin 300mg , omeprazole 20mg and naproxen 500mg .can i take b complex or b12 ? which one is better ?

B complex: Do you fill a full gas tank to make your car run faster ? THen it makes no sense to give more B12 unless the amount  of B12 in you is below normal (which is rare under age 60 and testable).
It's easier to run out of the b complex vitamins and diabetics do better getting them.

Precautions: Do NOT mix NSAID's as risk of side effects literally can double.  Thus, choose ibuprofen or naproxen, but NOT both.  Contact your doctor and get his/her opinions.

2 others: Lyrica and Savella (milnacipran) are both approved fOR FMS. Be sure you are also doing everything else you can to help such as mild daily exercise, regular adequate sleep, clean healthy simple eating,  I also had patients use Osteopathic or chiropractic manipulation, hydrotherapy, massage and acupuncture.

is taking gabapentin, naproxen, flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) and elavil together safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes...sort of: The Gabapentin and flexeril/elavil can make one sleepy initially but is tolerable after a while if you're on the right dose. Naproxen is ok as long as you're mindful of it's GI side effects (ulcers). You may want to ask your doc about the flexeril/elavil combo - they are sort of similar drugs and may be too strong of a combined effect for you.

i take gabapentin for diabetic neuropathy. i noticed when i take nsaids such as naproxen that neuropathy seems to worsen.  can nsaids do this?  thanks

No: Nsaids do not worsen diabetic neuropathy.
