No direct problem: They should be no problem in using Lyrica (pregabalin) for neuropathic pain after any of the gastric surgeries. One caution is that Lyrica (pregabalin) may cause water retention and weight gain.

what is femoral neuropathy, i've been diagnosed with sudden onset peripheral neuropathy of the feet, and nerve pain throughout my body. have severe pan in my left upper thigh,nothing helps the pain.

EMG can be helpful: The femoral nerve is formed from L2, L3 and L4 nerves that come out of lumbar spine.

Pain in the thigh can come from lumbar spine even though you may not have back or hip pain. 
EMG can help determine in a peripheral nerve  or lumbar nerve is irritated.

how about fermoral neuropathy. i'm a type 2 diabetic with servere nerve damage to the left ankle which was caused by a slip and fall to my lower bk ?

Diabetes or Trauma ?: There are several types of neuropathy, including femoral or amyotrophy, which can affect patients who have diabetes. It is possible that you may have been or presently are having symptoms associated with them. The bigger issue is separating the damage caused by the physical trauma the ankle as well as the lower back. A neurologist might be the one to best sort out the various possibilities.

Need follow up: Looks like surgical complication fom your recent surgery. Ask your PCP re benefit CT vs MRI but surgeons like to do their own imaging if they need to intervene, for which you should schedule a follow up with them ASAP. Feel better!

i had complex aneurysm surgery in june.  have femoral neuralgia from angiograms.  constant pain in groin, and thigh.  what can i do to heal it?

Few options: First, make sure you don't have anything serious going on with your blood vessels or hip joint that needs treatment.  If you've had some nerve damage from procedures there are different medications that can help, such as gabapentin, which is a commonly used nerve pain medicine. There are also topical medicine options.  You may be best off seeing a pain specialist.

Interesting: This is a bit unusual. Gastric bypass involves deep surgery and it is important to talk with your gastric surgeon about the technique he/she used in doing your surgery. Using instruments inside the abdomen may have come in contact with a nerve. I would suggest that you talk  things over with your surgeon. My question is also why have you waited 4 years to bring this up??

TLC: Make sure the wounds are dry. Painting the incisions with betadine twice a day can help prevent infections. Be around to assist when she wants to get up and walk- walking is good thing. If she has leg swelling, a low pressure compression sock (below the knee) can help.

due to an arteriosclerosis, my mum, 83 has had 2 femoral bypass within 1 year. after 5 months, both  surgeries have failed. what are the options left? could another 1 be more successful? alternatives?

can you be too old to have a femoral bypass?

No: If your level of activity is still high and you have vascular disease that is treatable (and you are healthy enough to tolerate the surgery), then it is ok to have the bypass. Age alone is not a contraindication to surgery.
