Don't understand: What do you mean by a nerve in your mouth.  That' snot an accurate anatomic description.  Sources of pain should be investigated.  Please call yourmdentist for examination, diagnosis, and (if necessary) treatment plan.

Not usually: Several rashes can have stress related causes.  Usually a rash around the mouth is an infection or perioral dermatitis.  I would have the doctor check it.  It might need a prescription treatment.

if alchol touches a nerve in your mouth like after dry socket can that cause damage or will it just clean it?

Accepted Answer

Chemical Burns: If you are speaking about a medicinal form of alcohol, such as in mouthwash, that should not be a problem, though it is quite strong and can irritate the area.  Dilute with water.  If you are describing the kind of alcohol that you drink, i would refrain until the socket has healed a significant amount.  Keep the area clean and allow mother nature her time to heal the tooth socket!

Yes and no: The territory you're describing is that of the trigeminal or fifth cranial nerve. The concept of "pinched" nerves doesn't apply to the cranial nerves the way it does to the spinal nerves. Get it checked out. Sooner rather than later.

: Tickle that provokes cough is due to irritation/inflammation of the back of the throat. Common causes are allergies, colds, sinusitis (postnasal drip), acid reflux and also inhaled irritants (smoke, pollution, vapors), cold air. Avoiding the irritant and treatment of postnasal drip are first steps in managing the problem.

Accepted Answer

Not really: "Encephalopathy" (no matter whose name precedes the word) simply refers to a state of altered thinking/understanding.  Delirium could be a synonym.  Therefore, encephalopathy itself tells us that the brain is MALFUNCTIONING in thought processes. Although it's certainly possible for circulation problems to COEXIST with the encephalopathy it's not necessarily its CAUSE.

can bruxism, clenching and or tmj disfunction cause facial nerve palsy? no drooping eye or mouth, just left cheek sits slightly lower when smiling?

Possible, but...: A nerve disorder can have multiple causes.  It is possible that a structural, vascular or neurological problem can be related, but you will need to see your dentist or someone who treats these type of disorders to get a careful evaluation first to determine the causes of the problems.  Then you can address the causes with diagnostic treatments.  Good luck.

Spurling : When you turn your head to one side & experience tingling and shooting pain  (radiculopathy) in your arm, upper back or shoulder region on the same side your neck was turned to, it may be indicative of  a pinched nerve (foraminal stenosis; nerve root impingement. Modification of this maneuver performed by the doctor is called spurling's maneuver or sign, named after the neurosurgeon who named it.

i've have had nerve twitching on the left side of my head for a few weeks now. what could be the cause? it happens randomly.

Muscle twitching: This sounds like an irritable, superficial nerve or muscle fibers of uncertain etiology. It commonly occurs in an eyelid. I doubt it is anything serious in view of the absence of other neurological symptoms. Try avoiding caffeine and see your physician if the symptoms persist or worsen.

having back pain and when i bend head forward i can feel something pulling and painful. have s pped discs and pinched nerves.  could this be the cause?

Yes: If it is clear that you suffer from displaced disks or pinched nerves in the neck then, certainly flexing the neck forward can create a pulling sensation on the spinal column and subsequently place drag or stretch on the nerves and vertebral disks which may not be perfectly aligned causing pain in the neck.  Have you participated in some type of exercise therapy for your condition?
