Could you Mean GERD?: I'm unaware of a condition called nerd except for maybe some colleagues & it's been said about me! there's a condition called gerd gastro-esophogeal reflux deisease. With it, the muscle that keeps stomach contents from getting in the esophagus doesn't do it's job so acid flows back and causes heartburn & ultimately damage. Treatment is meds 1st then surgery if that fails. Hope this helps.

In moderation: It has a bunch of herbal products that are likely quite safe when used as directed, including ginko biloba, but it has about the same amount of caffeine as a strong cup of coffee.  The herbal ingredients, vitamins and amino acids are likely not a problem (although most are unnecessary and not needed in people who have good nutrition), but excessive amounts of caffeine can be harmful.

Unclear on question: Non Erosive Reflux Disease and a loose lower esophageal sphincter? Avoid stomach irritants - spicy food, alcohol, tobacco, chocolate, acidic food (tomato/ citrus/ coffee). Eat small meals and do not lay down for at least 2 hrs after meals. Medication like omprazole, ranitidine, sucralfate can help. The only cure is surgery- fundoplication. what is the difference between nerd & gerd?  if my endoscopy shows normal but i have dysphagia corrected by nexium (esomeprazole), (esomeprazole) is this nerd?.. only nexium (esomeprazole) works.

NERD: ... Is an endoscopic term meaning that no erosions were seen in the esophagus by endoscopy .  It does not mean that you do not have gastroesophageal reflux disease. If Nexium (esomeprazole) helps, I would continue that medicine, as recommended by your gastroenterologist. You should also continue antireflux measures, in addition. Good luck.

oral surgeon says i have something similar to a fibroma on the roof of my mouth. ive read that they are usually on the cheek.. is he correct? its extremely small and in the middle of roof of mouth. size of a nerd

Palatal lesion: Your oral surgeon has used years of schooling and experience to evaluate your lesion and has concluded that it is most likely a fibroma. If you want a 100% definitive answer, the lesion can be removed and sent to a pathology lab for testing. The surgeons are trained to biopsy or remove suspicious lesions, so there's a good bet that he's correct.

Doctor can evaluate: Spots in the genitals area are hard to describe in words, and even harder to visualize. A primary care doctor or an ob-gyn can look to see what it might be. Possibilities include an inflamed or infected gland, a herpes sore (they hurt), some other std, etc...  If it is a bacterial infection, antibiotics can help. If it is viral like herpes, then anti-virals like Valtrex (valacyclovir) may be helpful.

how common is roof of mouth cancer in 22 y/o non smoker, drinker? oral surgeon said its an oral fibroma but its been there for a year. has not changed in size. very small size of nerd. just worried

Tobacco associated: You need to be tobacco free to be low risk. Chewing tobacco, pipes (Freud died from it), cigars are all risks. AND assuming tobacco free. Low risk. BUT scar tissue is a risk for the development of scar cancers and 2 of the small number of patients I've had die from cancers were with cancers in scar (lung, skin). 
BUT without any characteristics of cancer.....

i know with oral contraceptive yiu nerd to wait 5 says before having intercourse. does the same apply to injections?

Depends: Contraception pills or injections work by preventing egg release &amp; less friendly for a pregnancy. As you first begin either it takes time for your body to adjust to the influence of the external hormones &amp; you wait (some suggest another BC for a month) . If you have been on either the pill or injections &amp; are just starting a new pack/injection, there is no reason to wait, the process overlaps.

i have a funny odor coming from my vagina and my lower back hurts. i went to the gp and he said there is no uti or vaginitis. so i would like help in understanding if i nerd to go to a gynecologist?

Bacterial vaginosis?: Abnormally strong vaginal odor is most commonly caused by bacterial vaginosis, which results from overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria. Getting a second opinion from a gynecologist is a good idea. Good luck!
