If Neocate: If the baby is on neocate, that implies his doctor suspects multiple food allergies or GI intolerance. The most important step is to be sure you're mixing the formula properly. : Continue the formula as advised by your Pediatrician. If flavoring may be added, this may result in better intake. Allergy testing may provide additional information and may be ordered by your PCP.

DHA for babies: Excellent question. The usual sources, seafood and nuts, that adults eat are not appropriate for a 7 month old. Most infant formulas are now fortified with DHA, If baby is breast feeding, some of the appropriate for age foods that are higher in DHA are winter squashes (esp spaghetti squash), beans including black beans and kidney beans, and wild rice (which is actually a grass, not a grain).

DHA levels: Almost all formulas now contain dha. Some have higher levels than others but studies show that higher levels do not provide any extra benefit. So, as long as the formula has dha, you can feel comfortable that your child is getting the benefits it provides.

Formula: From what I have read, these formulas usually the extras added to the DHA already in there. Look on the ingredients, and/or check with your pediatrician

can i take 4 pieces of vitafusion calcium 500 mg? i read the baby needs 1,000 mg? i'm 7 weeks pregnant . i'm taking one a day prenatal pills with dha

Do 4 pieces contain?: Do 4 pieces contain 1,000mg of calcium?  if so - then you should really only take 2 pieces of the calcium chews at a time, b/c our body doesn't absorb more than 500mg at a time so well, and there are some increased risks associated with taking all the calcium at one time.  If the 4 pieces have more than 1,000mg, then dont' take them all. You probably get some Ca from your diet.
