i have had neck/shoulder pain/stiffness along with a small lump on the back of my neck for about 11 days (also sore throat). the pain mostly went away after a week, but the lump remains, and now have scalp/neck itchiness. neg mono test/normal xray?

: It may be an enlarged lymph node. You may feel the node every couple of weeks, if the lymph gland doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor.

diagnosed with mono & flu. my neck is so stiff & shoulders too. it hurts so bad. headaches & very tired. is this from mono or could it be meningitis?

Call your doctor : This is a question that is tough to answer online.  Please call your doctor right away, and let him/her know how you're doing, and what your concerns are.  If you cannot reach the doc, seek medical attention sooner than later at an er or walk-in center.  I know you've been waiting a while for an answer; hope your ? swollen nodes, sore thrt 18 days, mono strep neg, hiv after low expos rna tested at 17 days neg, headache, stiff neck, random burning spots what else?

Mononucleosis: is a viral infection causing fever, sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes. Home remedies: drink plenty of water, gargle with warm salt water or mouthwash to ease a sore throat, get plenty of rest and relax. Use Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain and fever. The symptoms  may linger for 4-6 weeks.

i have had a sore throat for 5 days, earache in both ears, fever up to 103, chills, body aches, and flu and strep was negative. ive had mono before so its likely not that. also my neck is stiff but that may just be the ear probs. any help?

i was diagnosis with mono on feb. 26th of this year.  i still have pain in my neck where my initial symptoms arose.  is this normal or should i go back to my dr?

Could be & Yes: Symptoms may linger for quite some time after mono. A follow up visit after a month seems appropriate. God luck!

Yes: It is common with acute mono to have tender swollen glands in the front and back of your neck.

i had mono about 2 months ago, the only thing left is the neck pain.  does this mean i can never kiss anyone again?

No!!: Mononucleosis is spread by kissing, and sharing drinks, like many viruses. When you are well, without fever, you can participate in your usual activities as tolerated. Certainly, you can kiss someone. There is always a risk of getting a virus this way, but no worse than usual! do avoid sharing cups and utensils with others.

What is the question: These tests mean nothing outside the context of full clinical assessment which should include detailed history and physical exam. Since this obviously is now not an emergency go and see your pcp and get evaluated.

Aches: Your symptoms are nonspecific. If they persist a  thorough history and system review and a physical examination and blood tests including a monotest would be advisable.
