No: Chiropractic medical treatment  can be very beneficial. It is very effective in conservative treatment of facet sydrome. Studies have shown that short term treatment to as effective & in some cases more effective than physical therapy for back pain. If there is disc herniation with compression of a nerve root, then adjustments may be counter intuitive.

Neurologist: I advise consulting a neurologist as a definitive diagnosis is needed. You may be dealing with a nerve impingement or radiculopathy 
 from a herniated disc or a bone spur in your neck or with a primary neuritis . Appropriate testing which will most likely include an MRI is needed in order to advise you and discuss treatment options.

Cspine : Narrowing of the cspine spaces probably implies disc compression or degeneration. Mri would provide more specific details. Symptoms definitely can include neck pain, as well as numbness or pain down an arm.  Respiratory problems such as difficuly breathing or dry cough are unlikely.
