Seek evaluation: You should not be stressed or worried.  Both of these ideas cause any pain or disease to be worse.  You should go see your doctor for in person exam and evaluation of your symptoms to get some specific treatments.

Viral meningitis : Haven't seen her but by description would be worried about viral meningitis. If not improving in next 24 hours would have her reevaluated.

Need evaluation: Those are alot of neurologic symptoms.  Differential diagnosis range from cervical myelopathy to fibromyalgia.  Highly suggest a prompt neurologic evaluation.

To ER if still hurts: Please have someone drive you to the er or go by ambulance. I think this warrants a ct scan to rule out a subdural hematoma.

Evaluate Neck: If you are not improving have your doctor order a cervical spine mri.  Many times a herniated disc in the neck can cause arm pain especially if you have not improved with the medications and physical therapy.  If it is a herniated disc you may need evaluation from a spine specialist to determine what other options might be needed (injections, surgery, etc) to help reduce pain.

why would you get metallic taste in mouth when exercising and getting upper left chest and neck discomfort, deep heaviness?

See a doctor: Your symptoms could be a sign of heart disease and a warning you are at risk.  See your doctor and get checked. This is not something that can wait.  Avoid activities which cause the pressure until you are checked.  If it occurs again go to ER immediately.

saw an otolaryngologist bc of my ear buzzing and neck discomfort. he can't find anything told me to check in 6 mo. can i ask for an mri before that?

Buzzing: ENT would have to have more indications than that to justify MRI. Pulsatile tinnitus, unilateral hearing loss would be possible indications

Ans: Sounds like your sinuses are involved. Try hot fluids to irrigate the see of this makes you feel better. There is also over the counter Benadryl (diphenhydramine) the will dry up the congestion see if that helps you. If no benefit time to see your doctor

Muscle pain: Many times neck and muscle pain is due to weakness and inhibition of the lower terapezius muscles causing excessive tightening of the upper trapezius muscle and of the neck muscles. Scapular stabilization retraining exercises are very helpfu.  Avoid the drugs especially muscle relaxants as they are only sedatives for the most part and don't address the cause of the problem.

help docs! my aunt is complaining of a neck discomfort. what do we do?

Exercise, ice, heat: Gentle range of motion, stretching and walking or any low-impact cardiovascular exercise. Pain can be relieved  with over-the-counter medications like advil or aleve (naproxen). Ice for about 45 minutes will address inflammation and swelling, never apply ice to the skin, always over a towel or clothing. Follow this by heat for about 20 to 25 minutes to help soothe and relax tight muscles. See doc if persists.
