4 months ago upper endoscopy positive for gerd, gastritis, and hiatal hernia. more recently i sometimes have right sided neck/shoulder/collarbone pain after (and infrequently during) eating. unlikely to be anything insidious or malignant?

Accepted Answer

: This can be referred pain from diaphragm irritation, which can happen with the hiatal hernia that was diagnosed during the endoscopy. If this continues, you should see your GI doctor to see what treatments are available for the hiatal hernia. Good luck!

i am having dull collarbone pain, shoulder pain, and neck pain on the right side. hurts to cough as well.

Hard to say: For this type of complaint a face to face exam and history is required. Did you get into an injury? Are you having a respiratory infection? Is there chest pain? You'll get more answers with an exam by a doctor. I would see one at an urgent care as soon as you can.

woke up with collarbone pain on the left side. it bothers me every now and then but it goes away. its still lingering. i have a herniated disc in my cervical spine. it hurts to the touch. not sure if i slept wrong?

: A herniated cervical disc doesn’t usually cause collarbone pain, but rather numbness and tingling and sometimes pain going down your arm to your fingers. 
Are you sleeping on your side or on your stomach? Have you sustained a fall or injury? Any local redness or swelling?

Yes: Mild neck pain is very common often in the morning after waking up. Most women have muscle strains especially in the 3rd trimester. But if it is severe and you experience other symptoms then it can be a sign of something more.

Often uncomfortable: Pregnancy can be a very uncomfortable time for a lot of women especially if in the third trimester. Back, neck, hip and joint pain are quite common. There are a lot of physiologic changes going on inside to permit the growth of the baby. She should follow up with her Obgyn to make sure the discomforts she is feeling are normal.

Pregnancy: hormones cause this skin darkening, will reverse somewhat after pregnancy most of the time.

Not true: There are no contortions you can do with your body that would affect positioning of baby in uterus enough to cause problems. Go ahead and stretch and keep your mobility up!

Not unusual. : Cord around neck caused by movement of the fetus in utero. Very common. No way to prevent. Ultrasound can show this. OB's will evaluate for a tight cord around neck near time of delivery.  Talk to your OB/GYN to discuss your concerns.

how can i treat ra during pregnancy having a bad flare up in shoulder and neck, iv taken paracetamol ?

RA / pregnancy.: Should talk with your rheumatologist or primary care doc as well as your GYN.  This needs to be planned and coordinated carefully.
