Yes.: Yes it does! if you are an "apple, " but if you are a "pear, " it only will make you fat.

Yes: Eating fresh brightly colored fruit is good for you, especially if it's organic (pesticide-free). Like anything, you can eat too much, but in moderation it is really good for you.

Avoid dried fruit that added sugar!

Sugar is sugar: Sugar is sugar. No sugars can be deemed 'better' than others. This is still quite a bit of sugar. Larabars also have quite a bit of fiber, which the slows the digestion of all that sugar, but you are still eating about as much sugar as a candy bar.

Yes, sugar is bad: Drinking fruit smoothies, drinking fruit juice, and eating too much fruit, all lead to excessive sugar consumption. Natural sugar is just a bad for the body as "unnatural" sugar is, if the natural sugar has been separated from the plant fiber, or otherwise purified. The best thing to do is to eat very little sugar, and think of fruit as nature's candy or dessert.

Read the label: If the label says no sugar added and 100% natural juice, then it is natural sugar. Otherwise, all other writings indicate added sugar and preservatives to make juices more appealing, thus better business for juice makers. Choose wisely. Yes: The sugars in fruit are the same as sugar from a 10 lb bag of grocery store sugar. There are some advantages to "natural" sugar (vitamins, fiber, slow absorbtion), but the risks are identical to the usual stuff.

??: You do not "get" diabetes from eating any type of sugar. Simply put, diabetes is a triad of Insulin resistance, increased conversion of glycogen to glucose in the liver, and decreased Insulin production by the pan crease.  However fruits contain fructose which is treated the same as glucose by the body.

Glucose: Glucose is inflammatory only if it circulates excessively in blood with high blood sugar levels. Glucose itself is not inflammatory.  Sucrose is not absorbed. It has to be broken down. Natural sugars, such as fructose, can be fattening and inflammatory.

Sugars: Soft fresh fruits are full of sugar so you need to decrease their consumption. Hard fruit like apple or pear are much healthier. Good Luck

Trigs: Your fruit intake is not the cause of your increase in triglycerides.  Triglycerides can fluctuate a daily basis based on the fat content in your previous meals despite fasting.  Alcohol also can raise triglycerides.  For diabetics I tell them to aim for between 100 and 150 grams of carbohydrates a day.
