•Spots that move when you move your eyes, so when you try to look at them, they move quickly out of your visual field

•Spots that eventually settle down and drift out of the line of vision

When to see a doctor

Contact an eye specialist promptly if you notice:
•Many more eye floaters than usual
•A sudden onset of new floaters
•Flashes of light
•Darkness on the sides of your vision (peripheral vision loss)

These painless symptoms could be caused by a retinal tear, with or without a retinal detachment — a sight-threatening condition that requires immediate attention.

Have them checked: Eye floaters, especially those of sudden onset may be a symptom of a serious ey problem, and should be checked by your eye doctor.  If they turn out to be due to the normal changes in the vitreous gel that occurs with aging, the best treatment is to ignore them. Most will get better over time.

No: Asteroid hyalosis can only be alleviated by a vitrectomy.  Removing the vitreous in the posterior chamber of the eye.  Having floaters does not mean you have asteroid hyalosis.

See your doctor: Eye (vitreous) floaters are more common as people age, especially in those who are nearsighted. A sudden increase in the number of floaters can reperesent a problem with the retina.  See a doctor if
you experience flashes of light or any vision loss accompanied by eye floaters;
you develop eye floaters after eye surgery or eye trauma; you have eye pain along with eye floaters.

can i expect an increase in floaters after undergoing barrage laser procedure for lattice on retina? i mean can more floaters be a side effect this treatment?

Probably: I would suggest an immediate recheck by your ophthalmologist: the floaters are not necessarily related to your retina per se and any retinal surgery can cause visual disturbances: you must be examined by your surgeon for a definitive diagnosis.

None: Floaters are a normal (albeit annoying) condition, caused by the gel in the back of the eye liquifying and breaking apart. No medication at this point in time can treat it. There are ongoing studies of injectable medicines as well as laser surgery to melt the floaters, but they have met only limited success. In severe cases (vision disturbance), a surgical removal of the gel can be performed.
