Skin disease: My best advice is to see a dermatologist who will biopsy the lesion to confirm the diagnosis and then prescribe appropriate therapy.

Skin/Tongue: Currently there is no cure for lichen planus but there are certain types of medicines used to reduce the effects of the inflammation. Lichen planus may go into a dormant state after treatment.  Lichen planus can flare up years after used to treat lichen planus include:
oral and topical steroids, oral retinoids, 
immunosuppressant medications
hydroxychloroquine, tacrolimus and dapsone.

Autoimmune.  No cure: Lichen planus is an autoimmune disease.  We don't know what causes it.  It generally is manageable with topical steroids.  Sometimes it is difficult to control.  It isn't cureable but manageable.

No cure: Lichen planus is an autoimmune disease and thus there is no cure.  However, you can still protect and keep your dentition for lifetime without any problem.

Lichen planus is a : Lichen planus is a self limited disease and normally resolves in 8-12 months.  In most circumstances oral steroids such as zempred are not needed.  Topical steroid creams, lotions and oils are much preferred.

Dermamtologist: Lichen planus  pigmentosus is a rare variant of lichen planus and is characterized by the presence of hyperpigmented, dark-brown macules in sun-exposed or skin-fold areas of the body. Treatments include topical steroids, ); systemic steroids; oral metronidazole, oral acitretin, narrow-band or broadband uv-b therapy. Obviously, this problem has to be managed by a dermatologist. No cure - just manage.
