We don't always know: The why, just what to do. So i would keep them short. If there is any sign of fungus, i'd try and kill the fungus, .

few years back my toe nail got crushed accidentally . it was not a major injury but since then my nail has been growing upwards. can i correct the upward growth of the nail ?

Doubtful: Once trauma alters growth of nail from matrix almost always irreversible. Even if remove nail and let it grow back, will grow back same way or worse.

Abn nail growth: May be fungal  infection versus psoriasis vs iron deficiency. f/u with dermatologist.

my right pinky toenail is growing strangely. it is growing thick and upwards instead of outward like a normal nail. it hurts a little to the touch and is slight yellow compared to my other nails. every other nail is normal. what could it be?

: Over the years of micro trauma to the little toe nail from your shoes. Not uncommon to develop a fungal- bacterial infection of your nail. It is difficult to resolve but not impossible. See a podiatrist for advice and treatment.

how complicated of a procedure would the removal of a bent metal rod implant from the 5th metacarpal in my right hand be? its bent about 30 degrees, causing my bone to curve upwards on the top of my hand. this happened 6 months ago and is now healed?

: You should see the doctor who put the metal rod in place. Removal is not very complicated but would likely require a short procedure in an operating room where you are sedated so you won’t feel it. You should get this evaluated by the surgeon who placed it. Good luck to you!

i'm having mild shoulder pain from a week. i feel sharp  pain in my rotator joint, when i lift the hand upwards. in any case, this can be arthritis?

Not likely: Most likely AC joint arthritis from a prior separation. Next, a cuff tear- supraspinatus. Next, an impingement syndrome if you have a type III acromion. Less likely, a SLAP lesion of the capsule.  Rarely, a bone cyst. Almost never anything worse.

: Front edge, side edge or edge at base of nail?  I would google white nail edges and look and images to see if you can match up. Show to your Dr. and discuss.

Blue Nails: Blue nails may be indicative of pulmonary obstruction, emphysema or lung disease. Blue fingernails may represent a type of cyanosis caused by a lower level of lack of circulating oxygen in the red blood cells. It may also represent a high level of an abnormal form of hemoglobin in the circulation. Another cause can be medications like minocin (minocycline). See your doctor for a diagnosis.

my pinky has been hurting for about 5 years and now its turning blue from the nail i want to know why  please help ?

Difficult to say: This could be a couple of things.  Normally when something is turning blue, you consider vascular pathology.  Most commonly, this is something called raynaud's.  Does it occur more often when the fingertip is cold?  I would recommend seeing a hand surgeon.
