Abd  gas: Would follow up with doctor and get evaluation for food intolerances,and check for H pylori.  Persistent gas is not normal. Consider soy , gluten issues,soak beans for 24 hours before cooking or use bean-o(some have difficulty digesting beans-alpha galactosidase)). Maalox has simethicone as does Gas-X.

LPR? Sure its gas?: Feeling full of "gas" may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks).  Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, &amp; pelvic pathology outside the gut.

Dairy free diet: Try elimination diet,starting with dairy free x 1 month
may eat yogurt.

Gas pains: To relieve entrapped intestinal gas, drinking hot( not boiling) water and applying heat to the abdomen helps break down gas and enables it to pass along the intestinal tract to be passed rectally. Don't force yourself to burp as you only swallow more air doing that. If you're experiencing severe abdominal pain or have severe abdominal distension, get examined by a physician. take gasex after meals

i am taking the antibiotic cephalexin, is it fine to take antacids (mylanta) while taking the medication. will it cause any interactions?

: You are concerned that the Mylanta might trap some of the antibiotic and lower its effectiveness.  This is not likely with this combination.  To play it safe, take a 1/2 hour interval between the ingestion of the pill and the Mylanta.  That will guarantee that there is no cross interaction.

i was at the er yesterday for gastritis pain, they gave me mylanta and pantoprozele, now i have lower back pain and lower abdominal pain. are these symptoms a sign that i should return to the er or continue my medication?

Need more info: The medication was appropriate and normally will give you some relief within 24-48 hours. I hope that the physician also gave you dietary instructions. If your symptoms continue or get much worse see your family physician or return to the ER. I prefer that you see your family physician for continued care.

Mylanta: Mylanta is unlikely to be related to diabetes. If you have symptoms that are of concern to you, a visit to your doctor would be in order.
You can also go online and learn what the effects of Mylanta would be. Most often very helpful.
