OTC Pain Meds: You can take OTC pain meds, which may help a very little bit for a short time. Now make the visit to the oral surgeon the most important thing for you to do, and do it. The pain will soon become unbearable.

Three things:: Take some otc pain medication, rinse with warm salt water and most importantly see your dentist as soon as possible to determine whether or not you have an infection and if that tooth needs to be removed.

No good answer: If your wisdom tooth hurts because of a cavity or it's impacted, no amount of penicillin regardless of how long you are on it will resolve the problem. If the wisdom tooth is coming in straight and there is sufficient room for it, the penicillin (plus(warm salt water rinses, and otc pain medication) may help within a couple of days. You should see a dentist to evaluate and advise you properly.

is it a bad idea to take ketorolac for wisdom tooth pain?

Yes & No: Toradol is used for moderate to severe pain.
It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and could cause bleeding at the surgical site.
If it is on your third day after the extraction or just for pain it should be ok. 
Keep in mind that the maximum duration of treatment should not exceed five days for tablets.

See your dentist: This is called referred pain and is also a temporary condition. For moderate pain, Motrin and Tylenol (acetaminophen) are recommended. See your dentist for evaluation x-ray and treatment if needed.
