Inflammation: If you have normal blood pressure at age 34, then your tongue may be swollen from inflammatory causes such as temperature or chemical triggers in hot spices. You may have a food allergy causing the tongue to swell. Some people take blood pressure medications in the class called ace inhibitors like lisinopril. There is a condition called angioneurotic edema of the tongue due to an enzyme deficiency.

More info: Shedding skin on the tongue may be associated with geographic tongue often associated with allergy--giving pattern on tongue.  The large bumps are probably taste buds which are probably normal..  If you are uncomfortable, please see your doctor or dentist to check this out.

after the excision of a big mucocele from the bottom side of my tongue 2.5 months ago, my tongue tip looks like swollen (a bump that causes it to point upwards).i believe this causes me issues with pronunciation.is it nerve damage?will it get better?

Possible herpes: A herpes viral infection can cause these lesions. I recommend that you consult an otolaryngologist for diagnosis and treatment.

Tonsil stones: If it’s sore you could have a tonsil abscess ( infection in the tonsil) . If it is not sore it may be a normal variant with stones in it. . You should have it looked at by primary or ENT Doctor.

what causes tonsils to be swollen for two months? when they started swelling they had white spots on them but now they are just red and big. i also have some sort of bump under my tongue and some brown dots on my inner cheeks... could this be a std?

See your doctor: You should see a doctor right away.  There are many causes for sore throat and some require treatment with antibiotics.  This includes strep throat and more rare conditions such as an abscess beside a tonsil.  Other causes of sore throat are viruses including mononucleosis.   A doctor can determine what kind of treatment is needed.  You could also get dehydrated if you aren't able to swallow.

Aphthous Ulcer: Common ulcer of idiopathic cause.  Although associated with abnormal monocyte function.  Treated with the following:  Lidocaine or numbing gel, clening agent like salt water, and steroid solution.
