Acid reflux: Stop ranitidine for a few days. If symptoms are not improved you need to see your doctor for a different reason for your reflux.

Anxiety: Anxiety is a very common cause for chest pains. It is thought that the chest muscles tighten to cause it. For some people it may cause actual myocardial ischemic pain but this is very uncommon in young folks.

Pains in chest: A upper respiratory infection can give you chest pains, especially if you are coughing.  However, if you develop shortness of breath, diaphoresis or lightheadedness then you should see your doctor or go to the nearest emergency room.

Chest pain: Gas can cause sharp chest pains along with many other causes.   Inflammation of the chest wall, muscle strain, pericarditis (inflammation or infection around the heart).   If this continues, consult your physician

Multiple causes: Do not assume the gas being the cause. If you are having any exertional chest discomfort, chest tightness and relieved by the rest, you need to see an md. It could be angina from the heart.
If you truly believe, it is gas, you try eating good food and may try some rx over the counter to see the effects.
Chest pains never to be taken lightly.

i have a pinched nerve on upper left back that gives my left arm &chest pain but somedays i feel small pains &somedays i don'tfeel it is that possible?

Radiculitis : A pinched or irritated nerve in the lower cervical/upper thoracic spine can cause the symptoms describes. Less common possibility is brachial neuritis. Your doctor may be able to diagnose your condition by obtaining a relevant history from you and performing a physical examination. Mri is often needed +/- nerve studies to confirm the diagnosis so targeted treatment can be provided. Good luck.

Vicious cycle : Or something else. Xanax (alprazolam) alone is not the answer.

is it possible that propranolol is giving me chest pains and shortness of breath and sense of panic? started 40mg one a day dose 3 days ago

Unlikely: that the medication is responsible...In fact, Propranalol is often used to TREAT your symptoms. (The one exception is if you have asthma) Speak with your treating health professional (G.P. etc) about this unusual response!

are there any risks with a cpap machine? my father was diagnosed with osa & says the machine gives him chest pains & dizziness. is this normal?

Mgt: Sometimes this does occur with CPAP. i would advise checking with your home company to see if less pressure can be used, and whether the mask fit is too tight. A follow up appt is indicated to rule out any other causes.

5% minoxidil gives me mild to moderate chest pains and some arm tingling. would it be recommended to work up to a full dose, try 2% or cease usage?

The Sun Also Rises: That stuff gives you vellus hair, that's fine and soft and doesn't look anything like regular adult hair.As far as I'm concerned it's a waste of time. Not everyone thinks that, however.But in your case trading vellus hair for chest pains and arm tingling (if truly associated) is a losing wager.I'd rather bet that the sun will rise in the West tomorrow.Get a proper exam by a qualified doc for this.
