Go to the ER: Abrupt hearing loss after head trauma can be a sign of something seriously wrong, like a skull fracture.  She needs to be evaluated.

i got hit on the ear with a football really hard. now it feels wierd! theres a bit of a ringing and i cant hear properly out of it. what could it be?

See your doctor.: You might have a perforation of your ear drum or swelling of your ear canal. Please go and see your family doctor as soon as possible and he will either  treat you or send you to an ear specialist.

Passing out and: hitting your head indicates the need to go to the emergency room right now.  You need to be evaluated for why you passed out and for possible concussion and what is happening w/your hearing.  This will give you a way to go and peace of mind.  Peace and good health.

hiya , i have perforated ear drums in both my ears which happened 10 years ago ive had no problem since , on tuesday i banged my head my ear popped and now i cant hear as well i also have a bruise on my head above my ear and im not eating properly?

Needs eval.: cannot say in your particular case, but generally, a structure that has broken is never again as strong. Deformation of the ears predisposes to more likely repeat problems with less cause needed to produce it.

i got a tube in my right ear this morning but now im getting sharp pains and i cant hear out of that ear. is this normal its really painful?

Tube plugged: with secretions ,probably it is now draining
you surgeon needs to look at it 
make sure you get a full hearing test prior to discharge

i'm taking cefdinir for an inner ear infection. its going on 4 days now of taking it and i still cant hear out of my ear. should i switch meds?

No: One feature of middle ear infections is the accumulation of mucous and puss in the middle ear space. This transiently reduces hearing up to 40%or so. It can remain for a week or two (6 in babies) after you kill all the germs because the material must drain through your Eustachian tube to the throat and be displaced by air.Abx kill germs but the rest can take time.

i have been having middle ear infection on and off now for the laat 3 months. everytime there is a build up which causes the glue ear. painful, irritable and cant hear. i am 28yrd old, is grommets an option for me? or is there a different solution?

Maybe/not: Grommets are most often of value in little kids whose Eustachian tubes are small, short &amp; swell closed easily with various factors. By the teen years adult head size is present as are the relative mechanical factors that make glue ear less likely. If/when it persists for 3+ months without clearing temporary grommets may help but an ENT may have other options to offer. I would visit one to see.

i was accidentally punched in the side of the head the other night, i cant hear very well and my ear canal was bleeding all night. what could it be?

Ear Drum Rupture: Go to your PCM or an Urgent Care to be seen ASAP, it is likely you have a traumatic rupture of your Ear drum.  Avoid getting water in that ear canal until you are seen.  It is very important for your hearing to be evaluated and followed up by an ENT Specialist after the initial evaluation.

Suspect infection: Fluid can be from the middle ear compartment if the eardrum has perforated, which is often related to infection or from the outer ear compartment related to inflammation/infection.  Recommend getting it looked at to determine cause and appropriate treatment.
