... Shingles ...: 39 y/o female says I have small bumps on the whole right side of my scalp and it itches and is swelling and painful? If one has had Chicken Pox in younger years, Shingles will be the first to consider. Because the Eye on the same side could be affected, even if it was a different infection, best to see the PCP to be sure &amp; to get appropriate treatment.

I would start: By using a dandriff shampoo like selsun blue.  A dermatologist would be a good person to see but i would start there if it isnt all over.

i have an itchy scalp and two small bumps at the bottom of my head on either side. could this be allergy related since it is fall? i have been sweating a lot as well due to increase in exercise. skin on body itches as well.

Sounds more: like an infected scalp and the "lumps" may be enlarged lymph glands which drain the scalp!
A "hands on" exam is indicated and an anti-dandruff
shampoo with a course of oral antibiotics may be indicated!

receiving paclitaxel and herceptin. after 5th cycle, developed 30 small pimples or water bumps on my scalp, which feels like sunburn, though i've not been in the sun, and itches. is this a normal side effect? can i use calamine lotion on them?

Blisters: Medications can trigger tiny blisters in the skin related to virus which has been quiet in your body.  Please call your oncologist to have them looked at.  Meanwhile, calamine lotion may be soothing and unlikely to harm.

Hard to say: Gluten sensitivity is more directly related to the tissue injury triggered by immune IgA antibodies on the gut.The IBSD/belly pain/ etc. are  your standard features.However, the gluten sensitive patient may also have allergic symptoms or cross reactivity to non gluten foods/substances that can trigger a variety of allergic symptoms like itching.

my scalp is red and splotchy in some places. no itching, raised bumps etc. noticing a lot more hair falling out than usual. what is wrong?

Hair loss: First...bloodwork should be done by your primary care physician.  Your thyroid could be off (hypothyroidism) and this can lead to hair loss and skin changes.  Vitamin and mineral deficiencies can also cause skin issues.  Ultimately you will likely see a dermatologist, but going through your PCP first is the way to go so you don't put the cart in front of the horse!

today i shaved my head and came to know that, there are red bumps all over my scalp.  there is no itching and no dandruff.
please suggest any measures?

: It could be from the irritation from shaving. Pl apply OTC cortisone ointment. If not better in a few days pl see your MD

Itching palms/soles: Usually, the first thing we think of , if it is new and sudden onset - with palms and soles involved, is a drug allergy. Usually with a rashl. Any new medications?  IF it is chronic- and the skin peels it could be dyshydrotic eczema. This generally responds well to steroid creams and ensuring skin is not overly moist ( i.e. sweating in socks). This type of eczema is usually between fingers/toes.
