i had my pupils dilated yesterday at 11am (3 different drops) and my right eye is still dilated and my left eye isn't. it's been about 23 hours. why?

A not: uncommon result of the drug(s) used to keep the pupils dilated enough for a complete retinal examination! The dose can vary (the amount that actually reaches the eye differs from side to side.  The 23 hours is a bit longer than usual and if there is not SIGNIFICANT return to normal tomorrow the eye professional who did your exam should be contacted!! Hope this helps

if my right eye's iris is about as dark as my pupil, while my left eye's iris is a light brown color. would this be considered heterochromia iridium?

Probably not: Heterochromia is usually diagnosed when one iris is bluish and the other brownish.  Various shades of brown can occur with the irises being defined as heterochromia.

pupils dilated 5 hours ago. 1% kind. left eye is still dilated and the right is normal. 2nd day getting dilation 1st day both went back to norm fast.

Variable recovery: The reversal from eye dilation depends upon the amount of drug that entered the eye initially, the rapidity of your tear flow and the biochemistry of the neutralization of the agent within the eyes.  This can produce a differential effect of recovery but almost all recover within 24 hours.

pupils dilated from using qbrexza wipes. only left eye at first. that subsided a little. now both pupils are large. they are not as large as they were but its been 4 days. some blurry vision. should i be concerned ? only little reaction to light?

: Qbrexa can certainly do this, and that is why eye contact should  be avoided. Suggest you see the doc who prescribed this for f/u and even an ophthalmologist if the problem continues.

had a dilated retina exam and oct 6 hrs ago.all healthy. but im noticing intermittent flickering in my left eye sort of like the shimmering after cataractsurgery. is this a possible side effect from the numbing and dilation drops? pupil still huge?

: Possibly. I would go to Drugs.com and look it up for the specific agent used to dilate. Or better yet as dilator.

Ask for a referral: Ask your eye doctor if it is possible to have a referral to a neuro-ophthalmologist, or to a university eye clinic.

should i be concerned if my right eye pupil is bigger than the left. i do have some headaches time to time. is this bad?

Accepted Answer

Pupils: This could be normal. As well could mean something serious. Could be related to headaches and maybe not. Could be normal or a condition called addie's tonic pupil. Could be migraine variant, tumor, aneurysm, bleed, etc.  See ophthalmologist.

what should i do if only one my pupils is dialated? i was wearing non perscription contact lenses and when i took them off my right eyes was dialated and my left eye was operating normally

You : You must be seen by an eye care professional.  A dilated pupil in one eye could range from benign conditions to life-threatening.  You must see an ophthalmologist, preferably a neuro-ophthalmologist for proper diagnosis.

: The main question is if this is impacting your vision? Double vision? Blurred vision? If NOT, then it is likely something that your eyes occasionally do, and the absence of vision issues makes it likely a longstanding thing. Trauma to the eye/head can do this, and if you ARE having vision problems you need to see any Eye Doctor soon to determine what the cause is and how to help your situation.

pupil in my right eye is suddenly very dilated and vision is cloudy, no other obvious issues.... what should i do?

Eye vision: It seems like this is a sudden event. I would suggest that you have someone take a look at it right away especially as vision is cloudy.
