Pinch nose,use Afrin (oxymetazoline): Nosebleeds occur for a variety of reasons. In children, 90% of nose bleeds occur in the front near the nostrils, which is why pinching the nose helps stop it, since pressure is applied. In adults, it can also be posteriorly as well, so pinching helps in fewer cases. Lean head forward, not backward, so you do not swallow the blood. Spray afrin (oxymetazoline). See your doctor/ent to look in nose and discuss causes.

Medical check up: If your bleeding is still going on, you should go see an ENT specialist. The best place to get one quickly is in n ER of a major hospital. I am surprised that you have ongoing bleeding for nearly 24 hours and you have not sought medical attention. This is an Emergency unless the bleeding has stopped on its own already.

Medical evaluation.: You may have a blood vessel in one of your nostrils that is damaged.  With a week of bleeding it is important that this be treated.  See that you are dizzy with morning sickness.  If you have bled heavily that could be one of the reasons.  If you are actively bleeding now, i would just go to an emergency room. Take care.

Several things: One make sure you are keeping your nasal mucous membranes moist.  This means considering using a humidifier in your home.  Also consider nasal saline spray.  But there could be something else going on with your nose and you, first, would need to have a doctor take a look in your nose to rule out more concerning problems.  Best of luck.

Pressure, ice: Apply pressure by pinching the nostrils together, put ice compresses over the nose and go to the emergency room for treatment.

First : First thing to do is pinch the soft part of the nose for 10-15 minutes without looking (that could allow repeat bleeding that will flush out the clot).  Pinching the upper, bony part of the nose or the upper lip does nothing.  There are no blood vessels there that lead to a nose bleed.  If that does not work then get a bottle of afrin (oxymetazoline) and spray both sides of the nose with 2 big sprays--this is a vasoconstrictor that shrinks the blood vessels temporarily (never use afrin more that 3 days in a row--read the instructions).  You may need to blow your nose before the afrin is sprayed to clear out excess blood and clot that will block it from getting where it is needed.  After the afrin, pinch the nose again for 10-15 minutes.  You can repeat this again.  If it is still bleeding, you may need medical attention.  Once it stops, do not blow your nose.  Frequent nose bleds are common, especially in the winter, but there are a number of problms that cause nose bleeds that should be evaluated.  So if you keep getting the bleeds, see a physician.

Pressure on Location: The bleeding is typically from capillaries in an area called kiesselbach’s area, just past the body near the nares. Look it up on google images. Sitting, keeping you head up, working to calm/relax, & sustained pressure on the area (pinching nose, side to side) for long enough without moving/letting up to check (usually ~5 minutes, timed, long enough) will typically stop the oozing.

Pressure : Bow your head and pinch the soft part of your nostrils for at least 10 minutes. If bleeding continues to be runny and flowing, then blow your nose to clear the blood and clots out, and apply 2 sprays of afrin (oxymetazoline) to each side of the nose and re apply pressure for another 10 minutes. Assuming your blood pressure is not too high, and you are not taking a blood thinner, this should stop the bleeding, .
