why do i forget things during day and while sleeping i get everything in my mind and don't let me sleep? how do i cure this problem?

Sleep study?: It is hard to say since you are young, 27 years old, and have these problems and doubts.  I would see a dr. Who can gather info through a thorough history and exam.

why can't i sleep without tv on, else my mind race through random thoughts, is this normal?

Sleep: Yes you are normal.  Many people use the tv, radio or music to put themselves to sleep, as opposed to many who prefer a quiet dark room.

if i couldnt sleep last night because my body or mind wouldn't let me after staying up late should i hold off on trying to get some rest till tonight?

Quick power nap: Set your clock and have a quick 30 min nap.
Try to go to bed on ideally regular basis as this also helps the immune system to function properly.

i have problems falling asleep at night usually get 4-6 hrs of sleep. worry constantly mind & body just won't stop! i don't want meds any suggestions?

Yes: This falls within the realm of 'sleep medicine'. Inadequate sleep due to a mind that will not allow itself to 'turn off the switch'. 
Try doing something different: avoid eating close to bedtime; no caffein after noon; no alcohol; go for a walk after dinner; use an herbal (no caffein) tea before bed; no sugar at night; no tv in bed. 
Consult with a person trained in sleep medicine.

It can't: Depends on why it is racing! job? Marriage? Lousy diet? A grudge? I.E. Any form of stress. Try simply being quiet and meditating on what is good in your life. Count the blessings and forgive the hurts. A common cause of insomnia is the ingestion of sugar. If so-----cold turkey!

If your mind races: Due to anxiety - try this simple relaxation technique. Breath in slowly ; deeply through your nostrils. Fill your lungs with air (but not to the point of discomfort).  Hold for a count of five then slowly begin to exhale through an open mouth. Repeat at least 12 times, longer if you need to.  Progressive muscle relaxation is also helpful. If you have extremely high energy level with racing mind.

Apps: Distract yourself with a meditative app. I recommend iSleep easy. Find a free one. They are relaxing but also distract you, like counting sheep. If you can't use your phone, pick objects like animals that begin with the letters of the alphabet. Or take deep breaths but count as you do it- count to 5 as you inhale and the exhale. Just don't think about life and let yourself rest.

i can't sit down for long and concentrate. the mind keeps wanting me to get up after 20 minutes, either i walk around or i sleep. why?

See your doctor: You may have trouble concentrating due to depression or adult adhd.  Or, you may have one of many medical conditions that can cause problems with concentration.  In order to rule out serious and treatable causes, you should see your doctor.  There are medicines and other management available for both depression and adhd and your doctor can help you decide how to manage your trouble concentrating.

Stress: tension, anxiety, depression and frank insomnia may all be issues to discuss with your physician. If you are having racing thoughts, you may have an anxiety disorder which will require medication.

Quiet hour: Set aside aquiet hour before going to bed. Turn off all electronic devices including tv. Listen to some soft music, take a walk around the block, take a warm bath and read a dull book.
