No: You shouldn't have much reaction when you take your contact lenses off at the end of the day.  Sometimes, chronic allergy to contact lens use and solutions can irritate the back of the eyelids which can give an itchy and irritated sensation when the lid is back in contact with the cornea.  Good idea to be check out for fit and allergy.

Possible keratitis: People who wear contacts are at higher risk of inflammatory and infectious keratitis. Your description sounds typical of patients i've seen with keratitis. I would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist to be sure. I would definitely stay out of your contacts until being seen.

Couple possibilities: You should see ophthalmologist. Itching eyes is usually allergic. your could try an over-the-counter allergy drop like pataday. With contact lenses, though, there are a lot of other possibilities like giant papillary conjunctivitis, limbal stem cell failure, corneal hypoxia, and poor fitting lenses causing small scratches.  Have it checked out.

Accepted Answer

No: This indicates some kind of irritation due to contact lens wear or contact lens solution.  Could be dry eye, or allergies, poor fit, contact lens overwear, not cleaning properly, etc.  Check with your eye care provider for evaluation and treatment.

See Doctor: This could be a problem related to fit of your cl or  cl over wear. Best to see your eye doctor to make sure your eye is not infected. Stay out of your cl until you get seen.

Itchy eyes : This condition is most likely allergic in nature and will repond well to cold compresses and anti allegy drops (such as zatidor over the counter). Do not use visine or clear eyes.

Accepted Answer

Yes: There is no problem in taking antihistamines, even in various combinations  up to 4 times per day.  Antihistamine eye drop however will likely be more effective in reducing eye itching.

Sure: There are no known interactions between over-the-counter allergy meds and accutane. Good health.

Accepted Answer

Compresses!: You can use warm compresses - a washcloth with warm water and hold it to the closed eye for 5-10 minutes 3 times a day. You can massage it with your fingers after the compress, but do not aggravate it.  You are trying to get it to drain on its own.  You may need it incised and drained if this does not work.    A sty is not and infection, so antibiotics do not help. It is a clogged oil gland of lid.

Allergy /blepharitis: There are multiple causes of red eyes.  Itching tends to point to a histamine mediated condition - such as allergy.  This could be environmental or contact. Other categories would be eyelid margin inflammation such as blepharitis.  You can try an over the counter artificial tear or allergy drop (such as Ketotifen - marketed as Zaditor (ketotifen) or Alaway)
