my right ear feels like it has water in it all the time. doesn't hurt but want to know what i can do to fix it.  i tried ear drops and clean my ears?

See your doctor: You may want to be seen by your family practice physician to make sure you do not have an ear infection. Antibiotics may be needed to improve symptoms. It is not recommended to use q-tips in ears since they can generally pushed wax back into the ear canal.

Ear : Ear fluid is a common problem for a lot of kids and some adults. It is due to eustachian tube dysfunction (when the tube that connects the ear to the throat is not draining properly).  Since there are no medications shown to alleviate the pressure or drain the fluid from behind the ear drum, it has to be done by a surgeon with a suction and/or ear tubes. You can try taking Motrin or tylenol (acetaminophen) for the ear discomfort, but the fluid will either have to drain out on its own (which happens most of the time) or drain out from an ear surgeon poking a hole in the drum to let it out.

The symptom of vertigo, however, is uncommon only from eustachian tube dysfunction and should be looked into by your doctor or an ear nose and throat specialist.  It is important to differentiate vertigo (the sensation of the room spinning) versus dizziness (which is a generic term which can mean light headedness or feeling unbalanced).

i had swimmers ear. i have no pain or swelling. i have stopped using the ear drops. but my left ear feels like it has water and sounds spongy?

May: continue for a few days after use of ear drops. If no improvement in 3 to 4 days seek help

It could be: Dom, if you hit hard enough to break your skull, you could have blood behind your eardrum (we call this hemotympanum). You are likely right, that the fluid has nothing to do with the head injury, but if you get severe headaches, vomiting, or other worsening symptoms, see your doctor. Hope this helps!

Plugged ear: The fluid may be in your middle ear and accumulated because your eustachian tube is plugged up, and has nothing to do with being around water of getting water in the external canal. With middle ear fluid, you get that feeling of 'plugged up'. Pop your ears frequently, chew gum, yawn - the same things you do on a plane if ears plug. If pain or drainage develop, see doctor.

Probable otitis medi: Probably otitis media. Fluid behind ear drum. It should resolve with time. Sometims antibiotics are used with ear pain. Occasionally, fluid does not resolve and ENT surgeon needs to place drainage tubes.

Possibly...: Sometimes if there is excess cerumen (wax) in your external auditory canal, it can obstruct the ear canal muffling sound, and giving the sensation that your ear is "plugged" with water. The cerumen can also come into contact with your tympanic membrane (ear drum) which will sometimes cause a crackling or muffled sound which can be interpreted as "water in the ear".

Hearing: You have fluid in the ears which have depressed your hearing.. It may take a few days to dry up.

Have it checked out: An ear infection is treated with antibiotics but if you feel like water in your ear,a physical exam by your  doctor is necessary to find the cause

NO: The sensation may be due to fluid in your MIDDLE EAR BEHIND your ear drum!  This is usually due to a upper respiratory virus..for example RHINO-VIRUS ..AKA the COMMON COLD!   Try using a NASAL SPRAY along with OTC DECONGESTIVE EG: SUDAPHED!!!!
