Usu good: Unless its just an area of bone sclerosis (arthritis) can cause the numbers to look higher, without any benefit to you (ie. Bone quality not any better).

Bone density: Foods are not the answer.
You need a reasonable amount of calcium daily - milk is good for your bones.
You also need 1000 or 2000 units of vitamin D a day. They are inexpensive over the counter.
Put that all aside. Have you had a bone density test yet - not common or necessary before menopause unless you have clinical evidence of bone loss.

Yes: Tea is one of the most healthful beverages and has many benefits. Because green and black tea contain small amounts of fluoride, it increases bone density. Women who drink tea have more bone and fewer fractures than women who do not drink tea. Most herbal teas do not contain fluoride.

Bone density spine: you are at a higher risk of having complications if hardware is to be used.  with a low bone density hardware has a harder time holding in the bone.

Not necessarily: Calcium and magnesium levels are not predictive of your bone density. If you had very low vitamin d or high parathyroid hormone levels, you could be at risk of osteoporosis. If you are a woman 65 or older, or with other risk factors such as steroid therapy, hyperthyroidism or history of fracture without a trauma, then you should get a bone density test.

Moderately severe: You appear to have moderately severe hyperparathyroidism.  Serum calcium level would be helpful in determining severity.

If too much sugar: It can be bad if the almond milk has sugar added, which it probably does. Drinking sweetened drinks is a fast way to down many, many grams of sugar. Sugar is bad stuff (but a little bit is ok). As for the bone density scan, no worries. Calcium-fortified foods and drinks won't alter one's bone density overnight.

my dr office called and said to start fosamax (alendronate) as my bone density test came back not too good. arent there choices? shouldn't a patient get consult ?

Yes and maybe: There any many choices for medications like fosamax (alendronate), (alendronate) some doctors choose that one first because it's the cheapest. I'm not quite sure what you mean about a consult, if you have questions about treatment call that doctor that wants you to take the fosamax (alendronate).

Bone density: Loss of bone density at age 17 is very unlikely unless you have a major medical condition.
Maximum bone density increases from your age till about 25 and risk of fracture is low.
