how long does it take before you could exercise from muscle stain in the hamstring and what could be applied to it  can it be wrapped?

Depends...: The length of recovery depends on the severity of the injury. Usually muscle strains heal within 6 weeks but could take longer if severe. A good rule of thumb on return to activity is to go slow and monitor your pain. Let your symptoms control your level of exercise. If it hurts your muscle is not ready for that activity.

i had a pain that started under my right armpit and grabbed (like a muscle spasm)- the pain went from upper right chest, wrapped around armpit to shou?

Muscle spasm: You made a great diagnosis. Yes  some muscle spasm can go from the front of the chest around to the back. Hint:  No heavy exercise, use Advil or Aleve (naproxen) if not allergic and use 2-3 tennis balls in an athletic sock and place under the affected muscle. BioFreeze is an excellent liniment.

Snakes: It sounds like varicose veins with the bulging and calf pain.

felt like a muscle pull 3 days ago.  lying on my back, with knees on a knee pillow, i'm pain free. if i twist at all, it's an 8+.  hard to breathe w/searing pain in groin all wrapping around to lower back/butt.  heat helps. ideas?

Call Doctor: Due to your previous medical conditions, you should be known to your doctor.
Can you reach a phone? Can you call the Doctor?
Try to get a ride to ER via ambulance.  You need to be evaluated because of the pain. Blood clots can develop and cause sudden respiratory demise. See a doctor for a check up soon.

husband 7 wks post op fem-pop bypass. lost balance and fell. now complaining of pain behind his knee in that leg. i googled it (stupid). is it likely a pulled muscle/sprain or do we need to worry about a clot? i wrapped it and he has been icing?

: It could be a contusion and/or a sprain, but a blood clot so soon doesn't sound likely. I think he should be examined ASAP by the vascular surgeon in any event. In the meantime I agree with the use of icing and elevation of the leg.

Para spinal muscles: Yes there are strong muscles called para spinal muscles. They include erector spinae   their job is to keep your posture upright  they can go into spasm and become roppy in case of back pain or sprain.

Fasciculations: These can be from medications (allergy/decongestants and others) recent exercise and nerve issues, to name a few.  If prolonged (over two to three days,) review with primary care provider.

Muscle: a band or bundle of fibrous tissue in a human or animal body that has the ability to contract, producing movement in or maintaining the position of parts of the body. For example, your tongue, masseter, and eyelids. Structures that do not have nerves or muscles include hair and nails.

Please clarify: Nerves cannot be "strengthened." Please repost with an explanation of how and why you consider your facial muscles to be weak.
